The U-16 National Team defeated Vietnam 4-2 in the third Group A AFF Cup held at Gelora Sidoarjo Stadium, East Java on Thursday night (2/8) local time. Thanks to this victory, Garuda Young team is solid at the top of Group A with nine points, and the team is ready to compete at the semifinals. Indonesia still faces two more matches against East Timor on Saturday (4/8) and Cambodia on Monday (6/8). Then, Myanmar is in second place and Vietnam in the third place. The visitors went ahead through Dinh Thanh Trung in the sixth minute, before equalizing through Mohammed Suapardi's 27th minute goal. Entering the second half, the Indonesian squad added to its goalscoring through David Maulan, Bagus Kahfi and Andre Oktaviansyah before Vietnam narrowed the position to 2-4 through Thanh Trung. At the beginning of the second half, coach Fakhri Husaini included Bagus Kahfi and Fajar Faturahman. Then, Bagus successfully made Garuda Young 2-1 through a penalty. Game tension began to heat up into the middle of the second half. The reason was that the match had stopped in the 66th minute after a riot occurred. The referee then gave red card to Vietnamese player, Vo Nguyen Hoang and Indonesian defender Bagas Kaffa. Although appearing with ten players, it did not make Indonesian players relax. Fakhri Huasini's squad was able to play quietly. Unfortunately, in the 72nd minute, Vietnam managed to get a penalty. Thanh Trung as the executioner, succeeded in minimizing 2-3 positions for Vietnam. Indonesia then turned off the Vietnam resistance through Andre Oktaviansyah's goal in injury time. Score 4-2 for the U-16 national team lasted until the game was over. Regarding this match, Coach Fakhri Husaini was grateful for this victory. Meanwhile, for Vietnam coach Vu Hong Viet, this victory did not make him too disappointed. He was not satisfied with the performance of the referee. Indonesian Jiu Jitsu National Team made achievement at the UAE Grand Slam Jiu Jitsu Championship 2018 in Tokyo, Japan on last Sunday (29/7). Indonesia won five gold medals, two silver and two bonze. The five gold were grabbed by Ilma Yenni Megawati (white adult 62kg), Imam Mastur (white master 1 62 kg), Cornelia Tobing (blue adult 49 kg), M Ariq Noor (white adult 110 kg), and Ananda Mauludy Iksan (blue adult 56 kg). The two silver medals were achieved by Simone Julia (blue adult 62 kg) and Wahyu Handoko (blue juvenile 55 kg). Two bronze medals were achieved by Herman Saputra (white adult 94 kg) and Fikri Ramadhan (blue adult 62 kg). The achievement closed the training camp of Jiu-Jitsu national team in Japan which has been going on since 18 July. Quoted from BolaSport.com, the UAE Grand Slam Jiu Jitsu Championship 2018 was a try-out for Indonesian Jiu Jitsu athletes before facing Asian Games 2018. Jiu Jitsu at the Asian Games 2018 will be competed at the Jakarta Convention Center Assembly Hall on 24-26 August. There are 29 countries that send athletes to Jiu Jitsu branches. Indonesia will be represented by 16 athletes consisting of 12 men and 4 women. The Indonesian Jiu Jitsu team targets to get 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze at the Asian Games 2018.

Indonesia adds six representatives to third round of the Badminton World Championship 2018 held at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center, Nanjing, China on July 30-August 5. They are Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and Berry Angriawan / Hardianto from the men's doubles number. In addition, tehere are also Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu, Della Destiara Haris / Rizki Amelia Pradipta, and Anggia Shitta Awanda / Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarani from the women's doubles. The addition fulfills the number of Red and White squad representatives in the third round to eight representatives. On Tuesday (31/7), two mixed doubles pair, namely Hafiz Faizal / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Praveen Jordan / Jasmine Daeva Oktavianti, had already won. Despite having eight representatives, Indonesia can only place its players in three match numbers, namely men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. Meanwhile, the representatives in the single sector, both male and female, finished in the second round. Two of the men's singles representatives, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Tommy Sugiarto, both left after being subdued by their respective opponents in straight game. Different things were experienced by female singles. The two remaining representatives, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Fitriani, both encountered heavy opponents in the second half. Gregoria met fifth mainstay and deputy host Chen Yufei, while Fitriani was challenged by finalists last year, Pusarla Venkata Sindhu (India). The result is Gregoria lost 17-21, 20-22, while Fitriani surrendered with a score of 14-21, 9-21.

Indonesian athlete, Hurairah achieved brilliant achievement when competing at international level. Surprisingly, he brought two gold medals in Hapkido world championship held in Seoul, South Korea, on 26-29 July 2018. Hurairah who is 21 years old won a gold medal in two prestigious categories, namely Bop High Jump and Bop Long Jump. He competed with 300 other Hapkido athletes from 20 countries. The man born in Sibreh, Suka Makmur Sub-district, Aceh Besar District, Aceh on April 1, 1997, went to Korea with 15 other national athletes. He was taken by the official team and supported by a number of local parties. Unexpectedly, Hurairah won the gold medal in two categories at once. Hurairah told RRI in Banda Aceh on Wednesday (1/8) about his experience and he became the world champion of Hapkido after four days at Jung Gu Community Center, Seoul, South Korea. He felt very proud to beat athletes from a number of countries, even athletes from South Korea where the sport was invented. Even though the Hapkido has not been considered, Hurairah deserves being supported by the government. The reason is that he has to struggle hard, even having to pay his own expenses for transportation while competing. So far, the most prestigious achievement he achieved was wining the national gold medal in Yogyakarta. Then, the first winner and the best athlete at the Asian Hapkido championship held in Singapore in March 2018. Recently, he has won the world title in the Hapkido championship in South Korea. With the achievement by Hurairah, Indonesia has now completed the total medal acquisition, namely 13 gold and three silver medals. Hurairah hoped the Hapkido will soon become a sport that can compete with other sports. According to him, Hapkido is not registered at the National Sports Committee of Indonesia -KONI. Although Hapkido is not yet well known, Hurairah has elevated the dignity of the nation in the eyes of the world. So, he deserves receiving an extraordinary award from the government.

Japan National Team rider, Tatsumi Matsushita won Round 1 of Banyuwangi International BMX 2018 championship held on July 14, 2018 at Kedungrejo Muncar circuit. Tatsumi Matshushita beat two main riders of Indonesia: Tony Syarifudin and Rio Akbar who were in the second and third position respectively. Indonesian national team coach, Dadang Haries Purnomo said in Banyuwangi that Banyuwangi International BMX 2018 is a very important event for the national team before competing in the Asian Games because the results in Banyuwangi will be an evaluation for Indonesia to determine its strategy, and see the shortcomings of the athletes. Meanwhile in the Women Elite category, Thai national team racer, Amanda Carr won after beating Indonesia racer, Nopi Cupianti and Malaysian racer, Noor Quraataina who finished second and third respectively.

Indonesia won two titles at the Thailand Open 2018 World Tour Super 500 tournament from mixed doubles Hafiz Faizal / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and women's doubles Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu. Double mixed Hafiz / Gloria won after toppling the first main players from Britain, Chris Adcock / Gabrielle Adcock with score 21-12, 21-12 in the final that took place at Nimibutr Stadium on Sunday (15/7). While the Greysia / Apriyani pair won after defeating the Japanese pair, Ayaka Takahashi / Misaki Matsutomo with score 21-13, 21-10. Gloria who played in mixed doubles with Hafiz admitted being delighted with her first title after nine months in pairs with Hafiz. She hoped that her achievement with Hafiz can be consistent. While Apriyani claimed to have prepared mentally and focuses in the final. She along with Greysia appeared patient and not in a hurry to face the Japanese pair. Meanwhile, Greysia Polii presented a title of  Thailand Open title 2018 for Nitya Krishinda Maheswari who is injured. According to Greysia in All Indonesia Badminton Association –PBSI page, she dedicated the title to her former favorite partner, Nitya. May she recover quickly from her injury.

Indonesia bridge national team performed brilliantly with the overall titles in the championship "Windy City Regional Championship" which took place on July 10-14 in Chicago, USA. According to a press release received from the Executive Board of All Indonesia Bridge Association –PB GABGSI in Jakarta on Monday (16/7), the certainty of the overall champion is achieved after mixed team donated gold medal on the last day of the tournament. With that result, the Indonesian team is ready to face the Asian Games 2018 in August; the team grabbed four gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Previously, the other three gold medals were obtained from the men's team number, the super-mixed team, and the open pair. Silver medal was presented by men's team and bronze medal was achieved by pair Nunung Tri Yulianti / Nettin Erinda. Previously, Indonesia Bridge Team also performed impressively by winning the overall titles in two other championships, namely 36th International Bridge Festival Albena 2018 in Bulgaria (June 19-July 1) and Music City Summer Sectional Tournament on July 6-8 in Nashville City, USA. Chairman of the Bridge Alliance of Indonesia, Eka Wahyu Kasih said that during the trials in Europe and the United States, the Indonesian team was experiencing rapid technical and non-technical progress. The training from Polish world coach, Kristof Marten, greatly influenced the progress of technical performance of the national team game.

The success of Indonesian young runner, Lalu Muhammad Zohri who won the 100-meter sprint of the men's World Athletics Championship U-20 becomes one of the 10 best moments of the International Federation of Athletics Federations (IIAF). Zohri's name is among 10 other young athletes who are under the spotlight of the world championship under 20 years old, that took place in Tampere, Finland, July 10-15, 2018. Muhammad Zohri won the men's 100-meter sprint after recording the best time of 10.18 seconds in the final race and defeating two top runners from the United States of America: Anthony Schwartz and Eric Harrison, who both finished the race with a time of 10.22 seconds. IIAF also uploaded the highlight video of the 10 best moments The U-20 Athletic World Championship in their official twitter. The U-20 Athletic World Championship 2018 tinged with eight championship records, 11 world U-20 records and 90 national-level records of each participating country. At least, 43 participating countries entered the final standings of medals, of which 25 grabbed at least one gold.

Indonesia Team added Indonesian Open 2018 championship trophy after Marcus/Kevin won in the men’s doubles final. Pair of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo became the champion of the men's doubles in Indonesia Open 2018 after defeating Japan representative in final round on Sunday (8/7). Held in Istora Senayan, Jakarta, the duo “Minions” locked the title through a two-set game in 30 minutes after stopping the seventh mainstay resistance, Takuto Inou and Yuki Kaneko (21-13, 21-16). BWF recorded that this was the fourth meeting for them. Previously, Marcus and Kevin were able to win three victories over the world's eighth doubles on the Japan Open 2017, India Open 2017, and Chinese Taipei Open 2015. Meanwhile, mixed doubles was won by the pair of Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir. In final game, Owi/Butet won easily a two-set game over Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying, a Malaysian representative in 38 minutes (21-17, 21-18). For Marcus/Kevin, this was their first Indonesia Open trophy. The two titles achievement in Indonesia Open 2018 were in accordance with the targets set by Badminton Association of Indonesia –PBSI. Previously, Head of Coaching and Performance PP PBSI, Susy Susanti said that if based on the ranking, there was only chance of men's doubles and mixed doubles.

Pertamina Prema Theodore Racing Team gained eight points in two races of Formula 2 at Silverstone Circuit, England that ended on last Sunday (8/7). Based on data collected in Jakarta from official Formula 2 page, the eight points were gained by Dutch racer, Nyck De Vries with six points from the feature race and two points from the sprint race. With an additional eight points, a team fully supported by Jagonya Ayam KFC Indonesia is at sixth position standing with 112 points. While the top position was occupied by the ART Grand Prix team with 219 points. For Pertamina Prema Theodore Racing team, the opportunity to grab more was quite open in the sprint race after Nyck De Vries started the race from second position, but the results of the race was different because the Dutch racer only finished at seventh position. Meanwhile, Indonesia racer who strengthens Pertamina Prema's team, Sean Gelael started from 19th position, and finished the race in the 16th place. He also performed well following two racers in front of him. However, he could not do much because it was difficult to start the race from the hind position, especially with policy start of the race initiated with a safety car guide. The sprint race champion title was finally grabbed by BWT Arden team rider, Maximilian Gunther. The German racer was quite comfortable to finish first after starting the race from pole position.

Three from eight Indonesia women tennis players advanced to the second half after defeating their opponents in the women's singles championship series -PP Women's Circuit International Tennis 2018 at Tennis Court Gelora Manahan Solo, Central Java on last Tuesday (10/7). Indonesia three tennis players who qualified for the second round are Aldila Sutjiadi, Joleta Budiman, and Rifanty Kahfiani. While the other five: Arrum Damarsari, Priska Nugroho, Deria Nur Haliza, Fitriana Sabrina, and S Suyaningsih failed in the first round. Tennis player, Joleta Budiman who was qualified for the second round after stopping the mainstay tennis player number 8 from Kazakhstan, Z Kulamba Yeva, played a three-set game with the score 2-6, 6-4, and 6-4. Rifanty Kahfiani defeated Japanese tennis player, Yuka Hosoki with the score 6-2 and 6-1, while Aldila Sutjiadi defeated her compatriot, Priska Nugroho with the score 2-6, 6-2, and 6-4. Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Tennis Federation of Lawn Tennis of Indonesian Tennis Association –Pelti, Susan Soebakti as Tournament Director said that in the international tennis championship in Solo, the foreign tennis players have the same quality as the ranking of previous years. She said that the championship in Solo was to improve the ratings of tennis host as well as a warm-up event before the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang. The next Formula 2 race will take place in Budapest, Hungary on July 28-29 and continue to the Monza Italy Circuit a week later.

Indonesia athletic men’s athlete, Lalu Muhammad Zohri won the world title of 100- meter run for men's U-20 which was held in Tampere, Finland, Wednesday night (11/7) local time. The athlete from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara in the written statement by General Manager of Indonesian Athletic Association –PB PASI received by Antara in Jakarta, Thursday, managed to cross the finish line with a time of 10.18 seconds. Lalu Muhammad Zohri defeated two American athletes, Anthony Schwartz and Eric Harrison who ranks second and third with a record time of 10.22 seconds respectively. The Lalu’s record simultaneously breaks the junior national record in his own name 10.25 seconds. The time record of 10.18 seconds was also close to a senior national record on behalf of Suryo Agung Wibowo 10.17 seconds. Lalu said that the achievement in U-20 Athletic World Championships or previously called the Junior World Championships is part of preparations for the Asian Games 2018 athletic competition in Jakarta.

According to the official statement of the Central Board of All Soft Tennis Association of Indonesia in Jakarta, Tuesday night, Hendri Susilo Pramono as a team manager when transiting in Singapore said that National Soft Tennis Indonesia Training Team won six gold medals, five silvers, and four bronzes in the 11th Soft Tennis German Open 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany on June 1-3. At the men's singles number, Prima Simpatiaji won one gold after winning the final of Indonesian representative facing his junior, Irtandi Hendrawan. While at the top of the women's sector, Dede Tari Kusrini defeat her compatriot, Dwi Rahayu Pitri. In the men's doubles final, duet Hemat Bakti Anugrah and Gusti Jayakusuma conquered senior pair Elbert Sie/Hendri Susilo Pramono. While women’s doubles Dede Tari Kusrini and Anadeleyda Kawengian seized gold after dismissing resistance Dwi Rahayu Pitri and Voni Darlina. The international tournament entitled The 11th Soft Tennis German Open 2018 was followed by four countries, namely the host Germany, Poland, India, and Indonesia. After competing in Germany, ten athletes was heading straight to Thailand on Wednesday (6/6). Prima Simpatiaji and the others will be in Thailand until June 11 to follow the Pattaya Open. At the Inter-Asian Games four years ago in Incheon, South Korea, Indonesian soft tennis won one silver from the men's singles number on behalf of Edi Kusdaryanto and one bronze of the mixed doubles, pair of Prima Simpatiaji and Maya Rosa for the Indonesian contingent.

Indonesia 2018 Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) held a welcome simulation of the arrival of athletes at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on  Tuesday (5/6). The preparation for the Asian Para Games 2018 which will take place on 6 October, keeps being maximized by INAPGOC. The simulation began from a briefing at the airport authority office and the manager of Angkasa Pura II in the airport office area. Andrianto Soedjarwo as Director of Arrival & Departure INAPGOC in official release, Wednesday (6/6) said that the simulation was also a monitor of the readiness in Test Event that will be held on June 27 to July 3 by using Terminal 2 and 3. The simulation was also used as good coordination with related agencies, such as PT Angkasa Pura II, Directorate of Customs and Excise, Airport Police Resort, Directorate General of Immigration, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Authority. Asian Para Games 2018 will be held in October 2018 after the implementation of ASIAN GAMES 2018.

The results of the National Athletics Championship 2018 some time ago brought West Kalimantan athlete of women’s race walker, Sri Juliani to be elected to follow the 2018 Asian Games Jakarta-Palembang. Sri Juliani successfully exceeded the targeted Big Board of Athletic Union Throughout Indonesia -PB PASI time limit -55 minutes, but her achievement was 53 minutes. Trainer of West Kalimantan PASI, Adi Pani said that athletics becomes a measurable sport. So, the time limit becomes the benchmark measure of the athlete's ability. He added that the certainty of Sri Juliani’s winning was directly obtained by Adi Pani via telephone from PB PASI. Adi explained that Sri Juliani is currently undergoing preparation to face the 2018 Asian Games in Pontianak. Adi Pani did not comment much on the strength map of women’s race walking in Asian Games. However, he is quite optimistic that the opportunity remains open, especially if looked in history, long jump athlete Maria Londa who did preparations outside national training camp, was able to present medals for Indonesia.
