Some 381,851 vehicles exited Jabodetabek until day-five of "mudik" ban

State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 381,851 vehicles having departed from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) to Java until fifth day of Eid al-Fitr homecoming travel or "mudik" ban on Monday.

“The figure fell 33 percent as compared to the normal traffic of 570,288 vehicles,” PT Jasa Marga Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru noted in a written statement released on Tuesday.

Heru remarked that 34.6 percent of the vehicles were headed in the east direction, 36.8 percent in the west direction, and 28 percent in the south direction.

The vehicles moving in the east direction comprised 70,714 exiting Jakarta via the Cikampek main toll gate, or 44.6 percent lower than the normal traffic of 127,571 vehicles, and 61,517 vehicles departing from Jakarta through the Kalihurip toll gate, or 52.1 percent lower than the normal traffic of 128,473 vehicles.

The number of vehicles exiting Jakarta in the east direction totaled 132,231, or 48.4 percent lower than the normal traffic of 256,044 vehicles.

The number of vehicles departing from Jakarta in the west direction via the Cikupa toll gate reached 140,505, or 22.1 percent lower than the normal traffic of 180,433 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles exiting Jakarta in the south direction via the Ciawi toll gate totaled 109,115, or 18.5 percent lower than the normal traffic of 133,811 vehicles.  (Antaranews)
