As many as 15 participants of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2022 were confirmed positive for Covid-19, all of whom have undergone quarantine.

Spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, explained that he had traced those who had direct contact with these 15 people and the results were confirmed negative for Covid-19.

"The potential for transmission can of course occur anywhere. And of course the tracing results have been carried out, and the results for all contacts are negative who have contact with positive people," said Wiku at a daily press conference at the Media Center GPDRR 2022, Bali Nusa Dua. Convention Center (BNDCC), Badung, Bali, Friday (27/5/2022).

Wiku said that in principle screening or checking the results of the Covid-19 early detection test was carried out strictly, so as to ensure that all participants present at the location had a negative Covid-19 test result.

"It is ensured that all are screened properly. Those who are indicated as positive are immediately isolated in their respective hotels," he explained.

He guaranteed that the number of those who were exposed to Covid-19 was very small compared to the participants present at the meeting and emphasized that the 2022 GPDRR meeting was running safely from Covid-19 transmission.

"The potential for interactions that cause transmission will certainly still exist because this is still in the pandemic period. But we continue to monitor everything so that the situation is very good," said Wiku. (RRI)
