The government targets the number of foreign tourists who travel to Bali to reach millions of people.

This is an effort to stimulate the economy and create jobs on the Island of the Gods.

"So our steps are to harmonize in the midst of a declining promotion budget, but we must use the entrepreneurial spirit more," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Tuesday (21/6/2022).

"Our entrepreneurial spirit for Bali can again get a target of 1.5 million tourists this year with better quality," he added.

Furthermore, Sandiaga revealed, that quality tourists are tourists with a high level of spending and a long visiting period to travel in Bali.

Therefore, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has several approaches to achieving this target, one of which is by organizing various international class activities.

"We are reaching for the approaches that are part of our programs, such as sports tourism, MICE, and international events and tourist villages. The target is 1.5 million foreign tourists. The target is 7 million domestic tourists with a total of almost 9 million," he said.

Sandiaga added, that the implementation of the G20 Summit in Bali is also expected to increase the length of stay of delegates and have an impact on MSME actors who receive direct benefits.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy itself has coordinated around 400 MSMEs in 40 hotels during the G20 Summit.

"This event opens up job opportunities and wide business opportunities. Currently, the condition of Bali tourism has shown the revival of tourism and the creative economy, although it is still not optimal," he concluded. (RRI)
