Statistics Agency Records Indonesia's Exports Increase Significantly

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the value of Indonesia's exports increased significantly.

Head of BPS Margo Yuwono explained, Indonesia's exports reached 26.09 billion US dollars or around Rp. 391.63 trillion in June 2022.

"The export value rose 21.3 percent compared to May 2022 or month-to-month (mtm). When compared to June 2021, the export value increased by 40.68 percent," Margo told reporters, Friday (15/7/2022).

Furthermore, Margo explained, non-oil and gas exports in June 2022 recorded an increase of 22.71 percent compared to May 2022, and an increase of 41.89 percent compared to non-oil and gas exports in June 2021.

Meanwhile, he added, oil and gas exports in June 2022 increased 2.45 percent compared to May 2022, or 23.68 percent compared to June 2021.

"Our exports increased by 21.3 percent mtm, which was supported by non-oil and gas HS15, namely animal or vegetable fats and oils, where by mtm increased by 300.66 percent by 2,538.9 million US dollars. The second increase in HS87 is vehicles and their parts 40.11 percent ," he said.

The increase in oil and gas exports, according to him, was driven by the increase in crude oil exports. Where on an mtm basis, crude oil exports increased by 69.8 percent.

"Meanwhile, the biggest decline occurred in iron and steel by 491.7 million US dollars or 18.02 percent," he concluded. (RRI)
