Indonesia Opens Potential for Digital Cooperation with Hungary

The government, through the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, has opened up the potential for collaboration in the digital sector with Hungary. Both infrastructure development from upstream and downstream sectors.

The Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, said that the Indonesian government welcomes cooperation between the two countries, considering that Hungary is a member of the European Union.

"Indonesia's cooperation with Hungary is wide open. Moreover, we are actively accelerating digital transformation," Johnny said after a meeting with the Hungarian Ambassador, Lilla Karsay, at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics office, Jakarta, Friday (5/8/2022).

Johnny said the openness of the collaboration, among others, related to cyber security, 5G technology, to the development of digital talent in Indonesia.

"Hungary also offers digital talent program collaboration. Especially for advanced skills in the form of collaboration with universities in Hungary to complement the existing collaboration between Kominfo and various world-class universities today," said Johnny.

On the same occasion, Ambassador Lilla Karsay welcomed the bilateral relationship between Hungary and Indonesia and supported the potential for cooperation between the two countries.

"That we are also working on cyber security and education in the IT field. I believe that in line with the G20 and ASEAN and Indo-Pacific cooperation, it is very important to identify and focus on all the projects that Hungary can offer to Indonesia," said Lilla Karsay. (RRI)
