The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) organized a training session for hundreds of university students in Garut, West Java, to compose academic papers and conduct research for national development.

"Academic paper drafting training is our effort to train students, who will be required to conduct a research (in their university)," BRIN's Director of Research and Innovation Utilization, Dadan Nugraha, stated during the Research Proposal and Academic Paper Drafting Training here, Thursday (September 29).

BRIN has various programs relevant to research and academic paper drafting, including the ongoing training session in Garut, he remarked, adding that the event is held in collaboration with the House of Representatives' Commission VII as BRIN's partner to educate university students.

"(We are collaborating) with Commission VII of the DPR to organize this kind of event from the westernmost part of Aceh to Papua. We also welcome everyone keen to participate in our training," Nugraha noted.

He affirmed that the national research agency welcomes not only those looking to join the training session but also university students and lecturers seeking BRIN's assistance in drafting their academic papers or accessing BRIN facilities and references.

"We have various journals, and we welcome students, who need the data or equipment (for their academic research) with open arms," the BRIN director remarked.

Nugraha also expressed optimism that new knowledge obtained at the training session would be beneficial to university students in composing their academic papers in their campus.

Meanwhile, a participant, Hana, who studied at a university in Garut, said that the BRIN training session helped her gain a better understanding of the research and academic paper drafting process.

"The training session helped us understand more (about academic research), as we are being introduced to its basics," Hana remarked. (Antaranews)
