President Joko Widodo has urged that the Indonesia-EU cooperation negotiations through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) make significant progress. This was conveyed during a meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, in Bali, Monday (14/11/2022).

"The 12th negotiation is scheduled for the end of 2022. I hope the negotiations will progress, including the issue of government procurement, SMEs and export taxes," said President Jokowi.

As Chair of ASEAN in 2023, President Jokowi also wants the cooperation between ASEAN and the European Union (EU) to increase. One of the focuses of Indonesia's chairmanship, according to the President, is to fill in concrete cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

Regarding the G20, President Jokowi also asked the European Commission and the G7 to provide support and flexibility. It is intended that the G20 summit can produce a declaration.

"I want the concrete results of the G20 that the world has been waiting for. Once again, Your Excellency's support will be greatly appreciated," he said.

On the same occasion, Ursula appreciated Indonesia's leadership in the G20 which continues to seek to formulate solutions to the global crisis. Indonesia is seen as a trusted partner on various strategic issues including renewable energy and food security. (VOI)
