The National Police’s Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) is collaborating with the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) to accelerate the national stunting reduction program.

This information was conveyed by Brimob's Commander of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Dankor), Commissioner General Anang Revandoko, while receiving a visit from BKKBN officials at Brimob's Headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Friday.

"We have also agreed to work together to succeed the government's program to improve nutritional intake as an effort to prevent stunting," Revandoko said in a statement received here on Saturday.

He informed that his party and BKKBN have also jointly conducted on-the-spot stunting alleviation in areas with a high prevalence of stunting, including by providing nutritious food, distributing groceries, examining pregnant women, giving stunting education, and providing or improving sanitation.

"We will also socialize the handling of stunting to our staff. In addition, we will also conduct stunting cadre training for our personnel," he added.

During the visit, the team from the BKKBN inspected the Command Center Building, which is used to monitor and analyze news related to stunting, both positive and negative.

They also checked vehicle displays and demonstrated the use of Corps Brimob Polri’s (Korbrimob’s) equipment for supporting the stunting reduction program.

"In addition, we held a discussion related to stunting handling, including plans for coordination/cooperation between both parties in Jakarta and all parts of Indonesia," Revandoko disclosed.

The Police Mobile Brigade Corps have also prepared personnel and medical personnel as well as facilities and infrastructure to support the stunting prevention program in Indonesia.

He said he hopes that his party and the BKKBN can coordinate, collaborate, and communicate well in order to realize the main goal of sustainable development in Indonesia.

In the future, he will invite speakers from the BKKBN to the Korbrimob Technical Work Meeting (Rakernis) and to collaborate on a media analysis of stunting cases reported across Indonesia. (antaranews)
