Cambodia is one of countries in Southeast Asia that has huge potential in various sectors, including pharmaceutical industry or medicine. Therefore, the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants the support from Cambodian Government to make Indonesian pharmaceutical companies interested in investing in Cambodia. This was conveyed by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi in her press conference after holding a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Prak Sokhoon in Jakarta on Friday (February 2, 2018).
“...Indonesia is looking forward to exploring the opportunity to fulfil the need of Cambodian market of pharmaceutical products and seeking the support of Cambodian government for the Indonesian companies that wish to invest in the pharmaceutical industries,” said Retno Marsudi.
So far, several Indonesian companies have marketed their products to Cambodia. One of them is PT. Phapros that has been marketing its products since 2014. Cambodia is one of trading partners for Indonesia in Southeast Asia which posted positive growth trading from year to year. In January-November 2017, trading value of both countries reached up to $ 492.75 dollars. The figure exceeded the previous trading value that only reached $ 400.01 dollars.(Rezha/Trans;Dhyka)
