Jakarta (voinews): The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry held the Service Quality Improvement Training for business people in tourism and creative economic sector in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Lombok became one of the Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP), so its human resources should be strengthened along with its infrastructure, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno noted through a statement on Monday.

This is undertaken, so that tourism and creative economy players can receive all benefits from the infrastructure development in Mandalika, such as when a sports event is held, he remarked.

Resources and Institution Deputy at the Ministry Martini Mohamad Paham noted that the training was held on April 5-8, 2023, with the training participants' target of 320 people.

They comprise tourism and creative economy businesspersons in the field of tourism objects, restaurants, culinary gifting, and other creative industries that had been registered on the online platform.

Through the training, the ministry strives to provide support to businesspersons in tourism and creative economy registered on the digital platform to develop their business image and reputation.

This is undertaken by encouraging customers to provide positive reviews to improve tourists' trust and loyalty.

Moreover, in 2023, Indonesia once again became the host for the ASEAN Summit, which can be an opportunity for the country to promote its tourism diversity and drive economic growth, specifically in Lombok.

"Through this training, businessmen are expected to be able to immediately respond to the opportunity by improving their business service quality," he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Tourism Human Resources Director at the Ministry Florida Pardosi remarked that throughout the training, participants received various materials that match their business field.

These encompass hospitality, housekeeping, front office, food & beverage product and services, room division, attraction, and complaint resolution.

This training was developed to provide participants with knowledge and skills to improve their capacity in providing quality services and products and to receive better customer reviews, Pardosi remarked.

After participating in the training, businesspersons will also be given mentoring and coaching clinic, so that businesses, registered and verified on the online platform, can be utilized optimally to expand their customer base.

Pardosi stated that the training will also reach a total of 3,614 businesspersons in six DPPs and already had their businesses registered on the digital platform.

These DPPs comprise Lake Toba, BYP (Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan), Lombok, Labuan Bajo, BTS (Bromo-Tengger-Semeru) and Wakatobi.

Specifically in Lombok, the training targets 1,045 businessmen in Key Tourism Areas (KTAs): North Lombok, West Lombok, East Lombok, Central Lombok and Mataram City.  (Antaranews)

Jakarta (voinews): Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno has urged tourism and creative economy businesses not to increase the prices of products sharply during the 2023 Eid holiday season.

"Tourists will not come again if tourism and creative economy businesses impose a price increase during the holiday. We do not want this incident to keep happening," he emphasized during “The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno” in Jakarta on Monday.

Meanwhile, for determining the entrance fee for tourist attractions, the minister gave full authority to the related stakeholders. However, his ministry has expressed the hope that a discussion will be held among stakeholders to adjust to the current situation in Indonesia, which is still in the pandemic recovery period.

Furthermore, the minister said that he expects all tourism and creative economy businesses to focus on quality and sustainable tourism by providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience to tourists.

This year's Eid holiday is predicted to generate an economic turnover of Rp100 trillion to 150 trillion, with a 50 percent increase expected in people’s movement. At least 123.8 million people are expected to travel during the holiday.

"During the Eid holiday, we are targeting 25 percent of the target for the movement of domestic tourists this year or 300 million more to be achieved," Uno informed.

Therefore, he asked all tourist and creative economy industry players to take advantage of the opportunity by increasing sales and turnover by providing the best services to realize safe, comfortable, and enjoyable tourism that can prompt tourists to buy local creative products.

He also invited the related parties to continue to maintain the momentum after the community activity restrictions (PPKM) revocation by stepping up economic improvement.

As a form of readiness ahead of this year's Eid holiday, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has distributed a circular letter (SE) to regional tourism services, asking them to directly monitor the situation at tourist destinations during the holiday and review the readiness of infrastructure and human resources (HR) in their respective regions. Jakarta (voinews): The Health Bill proposed by the Health Ministry will provide extra legal protection for health workers, the ministry's spokesperson  Mohammad Syahril affirmed.

"This is stated in the Problem Inventory List (DIM) in the Health Bill that was submitted by the government to the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on April 5," he said in Jakarta, Sunday (April 9).

Syahril noted that health workers, as the frontline in health services, should have their rights to good legal protection, as they are strategic partners of the government in realizing health transformation.

"Health workers are the government's strategic partners in fulfilling people's basic rights to health. Thus, they must receive proper legal protection," Syahril emphasized.

He explained that in the Health Bill, the government proposes an additional substance regarding the rights of medical students to receive legal protection, which is contained in Article 208E, paragraph (1), letter 'a' of the government's draft proposal.

"Specialist students can receive legal protection," he said.

The Health Bill also contains provisions for the substance of the rights of medical personnel and health workers to stop providing health service if they are subjected to physical and verbal violence, Syahril stated.

He noted that apart from the new proposals, the existing rights for medical personnel and health workers, which had earlier been listed in the existing Health Law, will not be removed.

The substance of legal protection for doctors while practicing in Indonesia is contained in Article 282, paragraph (1), letter a. In addition, article 296 also emphasizes legal protection for medical personnel and health workers, who provide services beyond their competence under certain conditions.

"We will also prioritize an alternative resolution in legal disputes for medical personnel and health workers as stipulated in Article 322, paragraph (4)," he said.

In the Health Bill, Syahril revealed that the government has proposed to eliminate the substance of charges to medical workers and health workers, who have undergone disciplinary hearings or alternative dispute resolution, as stated in article 328 of the Health Bill.

"We propose this substance to be deleted in DIM because it is a criminal and civil law substance," he said. (antaranews)

Jakarta (voinews): President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) distributed Government Rice Reserves (CBP) as food assistance for 2023 at the state-owned logistics service, Bulog warehouse in Kartasura, Sukoharjo District, Central Java, on Monday.

"For the next three months, the government will provide 10 kilograms of rice per month for beneficiary families. In the near future, we will also distribute it to districts and city in Solo," he remarked.

Jokowi noted that in total, 21.3 million beneficiary families (KPM) throughout the country will be receiving food assistance.

"I hope this food assistance would help to reduce the price of rice. I have also checked that the harvest season is still ongoing in East Java, South Sulawesi, Central Java, and West Java. There is no problem with our rice supply," he remarked.

The president also said that his side will continue the rice import as part of the government's strategic move in ensuring rice reserves.

"Just in case, we are preparing to face El Nino phenomenon. In general, we have not reached our harvest season because some provinces have not finished their harvest. We will announce the grand total of the rice harvest season once it is finished," he explained.

Meanwhile, the president noted that the prices of staple goods ahead of Eid al-Fitr are currently stable. The head of state confirmed to have checked the prices of basic commodities in Boyolali District, Central Java.

"The price of cayenne pepper increased one to two months ago at Rp90 thousand per kilogram, though today, it is only Rp20 thousand per kilogram. The price of eggs was also Rp32 thousand per kilogram, and now, it is around Rp25 thousand per kilogram. Chicken meat price decreased, from Rp37 thousand per kilogram to Rp32 thousand per kilogram. All prices went down because we have a stable supply and production," he remarked.

He noted if the price of staple goods decreased, then the supply will be abundant. However, if the price increases, then the supply will be rare.

Furthermore, regarding the certainty of prices of staple goods during Eid, he noted that it would depend on the supply.

"If the supply is abundant, then the price will continue to decrease. Food assistance is one of the semi-market operations to help the community," he said. (antaranews)
