Deadly measles and malnutrition outbreak occurred in Asmat Regency, Papua, on January 15, 2018. The status of extraordinary incidence was declared over on February 6. Dompet Dhuafa in cooperation with Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) and Indonesian Child Protection Agency LPAI initiated Food Bank for Asmat program to improve community environment in Asmat regency. Secretary General of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency Henny Rusmiyati in a Press Conference on Response to Asmat at the Philanthropy Building, South Jakarta, Thursday (15/2) stated that in addition to health assistance, Asmat residents also need education assistance in order to maintain their health independently.

"As we know even though the outbreak has been revoked, it is not necessarily that all the assistance to the people there is gone. From what we have known that the most important thing there is not just to give something for them to eat after it is done because it is related to the condition of malnutrition, but how we see the root cause, namely how to arouse the people’s awareness on education, how to maintain health. Through education, they should have been able to use their fertile land into something useful to them," Henny Rusmiati said.

Meanwhile, Health General Manager of Dompet Dhuafa dr. Rosita Rifa'i explained that in Food Bank for Asmat program there will be health intervention, education of food supply and management and supervision kampong or healthy kampong. (VOI/RIFAI/AHM)

President Joko Widodo reminded that in working we should focus and have priority what to do. It was stated by the Head of State in his remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the 14th Campus Convention and the 20th Annual Meeting of Indonesian Rector Forum 2018 at Baruga Building Andi Pangeran Pettarani, Hasanuddin University, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Thursday, February 15, 2018.

To that end, the President always reminded not to get stuck in a monotonous routine. "I have to be brave to make changes and innovations, I reprimand to the Minister of Research and Technology that the faculties that have not been changed for decades must be changed because the world has changed very quickly," said the President.

The government must also move quickly because the winning competition is only those with speed. Now it is no longer a great country that wins against a small country. "Now the fastest is the winner, the most responsive wins even though it is a small country," he said.

Therefore, the President has repeatedly asked for deregulation to cut the bureaucracy which only traps and ensnares ourselves. For three years the President has been trying to cut regulation, and complicated procedures.

To that end, the President ordered the Minister of Research and Technology to conduct deregulation and de-bureaucratization at the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Also present accompanying President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education M Nasir, Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Chairman of FRI Suyatno and Rector of Hasanuddin University Dwia Ariestina Pulubuhu. Human resource development has always been a priority in government policies, such as community access to health services, among others through the Healthy Card Program (KIS), community access to education services through the Smart Card Indonesia Program (KIP), and the continuing vocational education scholarship and increasing vocational training.

"But as of this year, especially next year, we have to do big breakthroughs in the field of education and more specifically in higher education," said President Joko Widodo when speaking at the inauguration of the 14th Campus Convention and the 20th Annual Meeting of Indonesian Rector Forum 2018 at Baruga House Andi Pangeran Pettarani, Hasanuddin University, Makassar, South Sulawesi,Thursday, February 15, 2018.

The breakthrough in the field of education should be more significant than the breakthrough infrastructure development in the last three years. The President believes that the rectors have already known that in the past three years the government has made a breakthrough by building infrastructures in various suburbs by building roads and bridges, port airports, reservoirs, power plants in untouched areas.

The President gave an example of the importance of building infrastructure by explaining that the bad infrastructure affected the mobility of people and goods.

Therefore, a major breakthrough in the development of human resources, major breakthroughs in the development of higher education should be done seriously.

"It means that Rectors should work more seriously because this will be the same as the infrastructure. We will desperately change our infrastructure, the concept, the way, the field decisions of our human resources will also be changed, we will change everything," said the Head of State.

At the beginning of the speech, the President said that the rector forum that day is like in the plenary cabinet session on Monday (12/2), because in the cabinet meeting, the President asked the ministers to think about a significant breakthrough in developing human resources.
