Cyclist from West Kalimantan, Bernard Benyamin van Aert took home two medals from the 2019 Asian Track Championship in Jincheon, South Korea, October 17-22. When confirmed from Pontianak on Monday (21/10), Bernard said that he won a silver medal in the point race number and bronze in the scratch race number. He added that what he presented is the best achievement for Indonesia. According to him, the achievement obtained is the result of past intensive training both in Yogyakarta and in Jakarta.At the 2019 Asian Track Championship, Indonesia sent several senior cyclists such as Crismonita Dwi Putri, Elga Kharisma Novanda, Puguh Admadi, Terry Yuda Kusuma and Bernard Benyamin van Aert, while the junior cyclists are Angga Dwi Wahyu, Barley Octavian and Mochammad Bintang Syawal. This championship is also a medium to collect UCI points to catch up to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, Indonesia also sent Muhammad Fadli Imammudin. The result was quite extraordinary because he was able to win the 4,000 meter Individual Pursuit (IP) gold medal and the 1,000 meter IP silver medal.

The Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) contingent sent 18 athletes. They succeeded in bringing home five medals in the 2019 Global Games for Disabilities Internationals (INAS) match, in Brisbane Australia. The 18 athletes participated in three sports from 10 contested branches, and they won one gold medal, two silver, and two bronze medals. Chairperson of NPC Indonesia Contingent, Sapta Kunto Purnama upon his arrival in Solo on Monday (21/10) said that Indonesian NPC participated in three sports: athletics, swimming and table tennis, and other branches were tennis, taekwondo, rowing, netball, bicycle racing, basketball, and futsal. Five medals in athletics were presented by Indonesian athlete, Elvin Elhudia Sesa in the women's 400-m track. This special Indonesian athlete who is mentally disabled was very surprising because she managed to beat gold and silver medals at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia. Kunto also said that two other silver medals were presented from the 50-meter butterfly-style swimming branch by Suci Indriani and the 800-meter athletic branch by Tiwa. Meanwhile, two bronze medals were won from the 800-meter running by Elvin Elhudia Sesa, and the Mixed 4X100-meter swimming style by Syuci Indriani, Meliana Ratih, Muhammad Bejita, and Irfan Septiana. According to him, those athletes sent by Indonesian NPC to the 2019 INAS Global Games in Australia are the possible candidates of athletes to be sent to next 2020 Paralympiade Disability World Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Aries Susanti Rahayu scored again as a gold medalist in the world rock climbing Championship. She succeeded in obtaining gold in the World Cup Climbing (IFSC World Cup) which was held in Xiamen, China, Saturday (10/19/2019).Aries won the world championship and defeated world record holder, Yi Ling Song from China. In addition, she also broke the world record as the first woman in history and she scores the time under 7 seconds, which is 6.995 seconds in women's speed world number. Her first achievement at international debut was at the Asian Championship in Iran in September 2017. She only presented a bronze medals from hers specialty number. She was defeated by Chinese climber, Song Yiling in the semifinals. In the 2017 world championship series held in Xiamen China, Aries won silver. Then, at the 2018 IFSC held in Tai'an China, Aries won bronze in the speed world record number. Her name became very prominent after her success in winning the world cup series in Chongqing, China in May 2018. She also became one of the mainstays of Indonesia in the 2018 Asian Games in speed number.At the 2018 Asian Games, Aries successfully defeated Song who had surpassed her at the Asian Championships in Iran in 2017. Indonesia officially appointed FIFA as the host of the 2021 U-20 World Cup. Indonesian President Joko Widodo officially installed members of the Cabinet of Indonesia Onward for the 2019-2024 period at the State Palace on Wednesday (Oct 23). Accompanied by Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin, President Joko Widodo installed 34 ministers and 4 ministrial-level officials. Businessmen and economists highlighted in particular the ranks of economic ministers. President Joko Widodo has appointed Airlangga Hartarto as Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Sri Mulyani as Minister of Finance, Agus Suparmanto as Minister of Trade, and Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita as Minister of Industry.

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) welcomed the formation of cabinet of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019-2024 period. Kadin considered that the formation is the best choice that must be respected and supported by all parties, for the progress of the nation and state. Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rosan P Roeslani, said that his party appreciates the achievements of the government so far and welcomes the cabinet composition chosen by the president. As a partner, Kadin will strengthen synergy with the government, especially in the implementation of a number of programs that will be run by the new cabinet and strive to make Indonesia a developed country, with 320 million rupiah income per capita in 2045.

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry –Kadin also assessed that the formation of the Jokowi - Ma'ruf Amin cabinet in the 2019-2024 period can answer various challenges that still characterize the Indonesian economy. Rosan P Roeslani is optimistic that the formation of a new cabinet can reduce the problem of the current account deficit, the trade balance deficit, the budget deficit, business licensing issues, poverty problems, the quality of human resources, structural fundamentals, such as efficiency, productivity and employment.

Meanwhile, economist of Center of Reform on Economics (CORE) Indonesia, Yusuf Rendy Manilet said the appointment of some ministers in the economic field has appropriate, including the election of Airlangga Hartarto as Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Sri Mulyani Indrawati who returned to the post of Finance Minister. Yusuf Rendy Manilet also said, the two names have had a lot of experience in the bureaucracy. This can add value and will facilitate Airlangga and Sri Mulyani in the next work process. With this experience, the execution of policies directed by President Joko Widodo could be done more quickly and realized.

The ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit will take place in Busan City, South Korea on November 25-27. The meeting will mark the close relations between ASEAN and South Korea, which have been running since 1989. The summit will also draw up a blueprint for the ASEAN-Korea relations for the next 3 decades. This was conveyed by Lim Sung-nam, South Korean Ambassador to ASEAN based in Jakarta in a dialogue forum held by the Jakarta Foreign Correspondents Club (JFCC) in Jakarta on Thursday (10/24). Since November 2017, there has been a change in the flow of Korea's foreign policy through the New Southern Policy. The implementation of the 'New Southern Policy' focuses on 3Ps: people, peace, and prosperity. Especially with Indonesia and ASEAN, Lim Sung-nam also expressed his commitment to build an economic partnership between South Korea and ASEAN, which is led by Indonesia, equivalent to 4 powerful countries around it. The close relationship between ASEAN and South Korea will strengthen cooperation in the fields of labor exchanges, technology and cultural arts. He also hopes to build a community of mutual prosperity through mutual economic cooperation with Indonesia, and to further contribute to peace throughout Asia by security cooperation. Bilateral trade volume is targeted to reach US$30 billion dollars by 2022 and more than US$50 billion dollars in the long run.


How about North Korea? In the 33rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore in November 2018, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo proposed that Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un be invited to the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-South Korea cooperation this November. According to President Joko Widodo, the invitation will encourage peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula; he also encouraged the meeting to make North Korea be committed to a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula. For 5 decades, Indonesia has established bilateral relations with North Korea and fully supports the ongoing peaceful situation on the Korean Peninsula. Although it was mentioned that he would attend the summit, until now there is no certainty whether Leader Kim Jong-un will fulfill the invitation. There is still one month ahead to improve communication between the parties' diplomacy towards North Korea, so that the 33rd ASEAN Summit will be able to run optimally. We hope that Indonesia can play a strategic role in this matter. In the end, the ASEAN - Republic of Korea Summit will bring peace to the ASEAN region, the Korean Peninsula, including the international world.

Beautiful beaches located not far from Padang city often become tourism destinations by tourists when visiting West Sumatera. One of them is Pasir Jambak beach which is located 17 kilometers from Padang, the capital city of West Sumatera. It takes around one and a half hours from Padang. 

All beaches which are located in Padang and surrounding areas face to sunset. No wonder, if towards evening, those beaches are visited by a lot of tourists to enjoy beautiful sunset.  

You can also ride a bicycle at the beach. The beach’s contour, which is wide and flat, makes this tourism destination to be comfortable place to ride a bicycle. In addition, there are many activities which can be conducted when you are at Pasir Jambak beach; you can swim, sun bath, play football and rent a boat to sail at the sea. 

To enter Pasir Jambak beach, you only pay around Rp 5,000, including parking fee. Facilities at the beach are quite complete such as toilet, restaurant, parking lot and gazebo for relaxation. If you want to stay at night, at surrounding of the beach, there are many hotels and lodgings.
