The inauguration of the first Oil and Gas Corner at Indonesian embassy in Kuwait City signifies a major role of Indonesian representative to attract investors in oil and gas sectors in Indonesia. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Minister, Retno Marsudi on the sidelines of the inauguration of Oil and Gas Corner in Kuwait on Sunday (1/9). The inauguration of the Oil and Gas Corner, which coincided with Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1441 H, is a form of collaboration and new initiative which was initiated by the Indonesian embassy in  Kuwait and Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities. In a press release on Monday (2/9), Minister Retno said that Oil and Gas Corner is completed with collection of literature and the newest information on  Upstream Oil and Gas in Indonesia; resources potential which and profile of relevant business actors. The existence of the Oil and Gas Corner will give information in detail to the stakeholders of oil and gas business in Kuwait on various development of Upstream Oil and Gas industry in Indonesia.

This year, Ministry of Education and Culture conducts again Darmasiswa scholarship program. For academic year of  2019/2020, the Indonesian government invites 579 participants from 104 countries to learn Indonesian language and culture for one year at 64 colleges or agencies of partnership of the ministry throughout Indonesia. Sectary General of the Ministry, Didik Suhardi said that Darmasiswa program aims to introduce Indonesia to the world through educational and cultural sectors. He also said that after they return to their countries, the scholarship recipients still become parts of Indonesia. Even, there is participant who returns to serve Indonesia. They become Indonesian ambassadors who also can contribute on development, peace, and  order of the world in their countries.  

To develop vocational education of maritime affairs in Indonesia, Sepuluh November Technology Institute through Department of Sea Transportation Technique cooperates with the government of the Netherlands as one of partnerships of educational institution. This was affirmed by being conducted entourage visit from the Netherlands embassy in Indonesia along with some industrial and educational partnerships from the Netherlands to Rector of Sepuluh November Technology Institute on Friday (23/8). Head of Sea Transportation Technique Department of the Institute, Tri Achmadi PhD explained that the department will collaborate with the Netherlands in developing curriculum. The curriculum will be implemented by Surabaya Shipping Polytechnic and State Shipping as vocational educational institute of Maritime Affairs.

The Agricultural Quarantine Agency (Barantan) at the Ministry of Agriculture guarantees the health and safety of processed wood products from Purworejo, Central Java Province, which will be exported.Head of the Center for Cooperation, Compliance, and Information of Barantan, Sujarwanto when reviewing a wood processing industry in Purworejo, Central Java on Thursday (29/8) said that forest origin products required by the destination country are guaranteed in terms of health and safety. He ensured that with the issuance of a Phitosanitary Certificate (PC), the product is ready to enter the global market.Sujarwanto further stated that with Purworejo's huge timber production potential, the acceleration of export business process services was crucial. He added that Purworejo has wood types such as Albasia or Sengon, Sonokeling, Mahogany, Teak and Pine. Purworejo Administration noted that currently, the total quantity of timber production in the area reaches 127.4 thousand cubic meters per year in a bid to meet domestic and international needs.Sujarwanto also  ensured that export products have high competitiveness in the export market. The Agricultural Quarantine Agency as the quarantine authority is the guarantor of health and safety. In accordance with international trade rules on commodity exports, wooden packaging such as wooden pallets, crates and boxes must be ensured to be free of insects and free of mold.Second Assistant of Purworejo Regency, Boedi Harjono, who was present and took part in releasing exports said that he appreciated the facilitation of agricultural quarantine for export agricultural products from his region. He hopes that the Ministry of Agriculture also provides assistance of technical requirements of agricultural exports for beginning businesspeople. So,  there is more potential for new exports, for example exports of Ketapang leaves.On the occasion, the release of agricultural exports from other regions in Central Java was also carried out, such as Albasia wood 357 thousand metric tons to Japan and China, 25 tons of ant crystal sugar to Sri Lanka and 7 kg of Ketapang leaves to South Korea and the United States. Head of the Agriculture Quarantine of Cilacap, Puji Harto said that the performance of agricultural exports has increased significantly in the province of Central Java.

The 7th high level conference of the industrialized countries, G7, which took place in Biarritz (read: bɪəˈrɪts), France, produced agreements in the fields of economy, trade and international politics. In the field of trade, the G7 which was followed by India and the European Community paid attention to the WTO agreement. Especially regarding copyright protection, efforts to better handle disputes, as well as unfair practices in trade relations. The presence of US President Donald Trump at the summit did not seem to discuss the practice of the trade war that occurred between the United States and China. The G7 also paid attention to the issue of Iran's nuclear reactors and weapons. Politically, the leaders present at the G7 Summit in France shared the same view regarding the prohibition of Iran to own and develop nuclear reactors and weapons. The new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is reported to have stated his position on Iran. In his press conference Boris Johnson expressly forbade Iran to use nuclear weapons. Whereas other European leaders tend to use a softer approach. That attitude is certainly different from the United States which has been involved in tensions with Tehran. What is also interesting from the G7 Summit in Biarritz, France this time is the discourse to include Russia. G7 leaders are of the view that Russia needs to be included in the G7. From the results of the G7 agreement in France, it seems the world still has not seen results that will impact  the global economic and political fields in the near future. Changes in trade relations marked by the occurrence of the US trade war will still dominate the development of the global economy. Meanwhile, the tension of relations between the United States and Iran may not be eased yet. This can be seen from the statement about Iran's nuclear in the final G7 communique. 

South Sulawesi province has not only abundant sea products but also natural enchantment which can be visited when you are in in the province, namely Selayar Island. The small island is located in Selayar regency, South Sulawesi province. The capital city of Selayar regency is Benteng. The trip to the island takes around 10 hours by motor vehicles from Makassar City. Selayar Island has beaches with smooth white sand such as Pamatata, Tanaera, Lansangireng, Taloiya, Pabadilang, Rampang-Rampangan, and Labuang Nipaiya beaches. In addition to its beautiful beaches, Selayar Island also presents beautiful under-sea panorama at Takabonerate National Park. Here, the tourists can witness wide atoll with the size of 220,000 hectares  and the biggest atoll in Southeast Asia and the third biggest in the world. On Selayar Island, you can also see unique hamlet of Toa Bitombang which is the oldest one on the island. The uniqueness of the hamlet is that the existing houses have bamboo roofs with high wooden supports, and poles. The houses use Bitti or Holasa wood which has good quality. Thus, the houses are still strong although they have been hundred years old. Another uniqueness of the hamlet is that most populations of the hamlet are above 90 years old but they can still do productive activities such as raising livestock and gardening. The beauty of beaches, sea, building, culture, people’s activities and the uniqueness of its nature and people are enchanting magnet of Selayar Island which is interesting to be enjoyed and seen.
