The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Melbourne along with the Indonesian diaspora in Victoria organized Festival Indonesia Business Forum: Indonesia-Australia Economic Powerhouse Business Forum. The event aims to attract cooperation in the digital sector and private funding.

An official statement from the Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne received by Antara on Friday (4/10) stated that the forum, which took place in Melbourne, raised the theme Building an Economic Powerhouse: Leveraging Mutual Strengths in Digital Technology and Private Fund Sectors and consists of three discussion sessions.

Indonesian Ambassador to Australia and Vanuatu Siswo Pramono said the theme reflects the spirit of collaboration and shared ambition between Indonesia and Australia to achieve the common goals of economic development, peace and prosperity.

Ambassador Siswo said that by working together, Indonesia and Australia can unlock enormous opportunities, drive innovation, and ensure that the growth of both countries is sustainable.

Present at the opening of the business forum was, among others, the Deputy for Investment Climate Development of the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board, Riyatno.

He provided a strategic outlook on the economic partnership between the two countries. According to Riyatno, the business forum can be a valuable platform to collaborate and explore new opportunities for partnership.

In his closing remarks, Indonesian Consul General for Victoria and Tasmania, Kuncoro Waseso, said that the business forum is a means to an end and a tool to help achieve real and concrete cooperation that benefits the people of both countries.

The forum identified a number of investment opportunities for Australian pension and private funding companies, including in sectors such as infrastructure, education, and manufacturing.

Great opportunities were also seen in the digital technology sector, both for creative industries such as games, as well as digital technology that supports other sectors, such as telematics for fleet management.
