Finally, Indonesia as the host has fulfilled the target of appearing as the general champion of the 2019 Southeast Asian Student Games (ASG) in Semarang, Central Java after collecting the most medals in the final match on Tuesday (23/7). Not only appearing as the general champion, Indonesia managed to surpass the medal target of the planned 36 gold announced earlier. In total, the hosts obtained 43 gold medals, 34 silver and 25 bronze, winning by ten gold from Thailand that finished second with 33 gold, 31 silver and 35 bronze, followed by Malaysia (18-25-34). Cambodia is the only contingent that did not win a medal from ten participating countries. Badminton branch complements the strength of the host Indonesia by wiping out all seven numbers contested. In addition to badminton, Pencak Silat also managed to show dominance by making seven out of ten gold medals that were contested, far surpassing the target of five gold. Chairman of the Indonesian Contingent, Yayan Rubaeni could not hide his joy with the achievement of several branches that exceeded the target. The international paragliding competition in West Java, the World Championship and Culture Festival 2019 in Sumedang is an arena to promote West Java as a world-class tourist destination. The paragliding championship will be held on 2-8 October 2019 and will be held for the first time with around 80 pilots from 20 countries to participate. This event will be used as a means to promote Sumedang tourism as ‘paradise’ as well as international paragliding destination. Regent of Sumedang, Donny Ahmad Murnir in his meeting with Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya at the Office of the Ministry of Tourism, Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta on Thursday (25/7) reported the preparation of the West Java World Championship and Culture Festival 2019. He explained that there are 3 considerations for Sumedang in holding the West Java World Championship and Culture Festival 2019. First, Sumedang is an area that has a very good place for air sports, especially paragliding for competition at the level of accuracy and "cross country", and it’s good for "Fun fly" or fly happily over the Jatigede Dam. Secondly, Sumedang has cultural and tourism potential that cannot be found elsewhere so it gets the nickname 'Sundanese Culture Puseur' or Sundanese Cultural Center. Third, there is support of cooperation with the tourism industry, the Regional Government of West Java Province, FASI Paragliding, communities, including the media or as a tourism Pentahelix element. Minister Arief Yahya appreciates the holding of the West Java World Championship and Culture Festival 2019 event which will bring about positive impacts to improve the economy of the local community.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Imam Nahrawi inaugurated the new logo of Indonesian Open X-sport Championship (IOXC), which was held at the Wisma Kemenpora Auditorium on Thursday (25/7). He said that the new logo will open the widest opportunity for sponsors to provide support for extreme sports. He also stated that with the logo change, it is hoped that there would be a new spirit in spurring the rise of extreme sports in Indonesia. The new logo of IOXC is currently consisting of bright colors like yellow orange to provide fresh, fresh nuances, blue on the background depicting good luck, red that signifies bravery, and white which means safe and peaceful.IOXC is a multi-branch x-sport championship, starting from Aggressive Inline Skate, Skateboard, Freestyle BMX, Battle B-Boys, Freestyle Football and Freestyle Basketball. IOXC is also able to produce athletes who have successfully won medals at the 2018 Asian Games. Minister Imam also explained that x-sport in Indonesia is quite developing. With the IOXC, it is hoped that extreme sports are seen as not only sports creations, but also achievements. The 11th IOXC Championship will be held in Karang Anyar, Central Java on October 25-27. IOXC participants are representatives from several provinces in Indonesia and some foreign countries that subscribe to IOXC every year such as France, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

The two-finger horizontal signal from the stands of the 2019 World Deaf Championships motivated Indonesian deaf athlete, Ilyas Rachman when gaining three gold medlas from this event. Ilyas said in a sign language interpreted by his mother, Andriany Trilestary to ANTARA in Karawang, West Java, on Wednesday afternoon (24/5) after returning from the tournament held in Taiwan. Badminton competition without hearing and speaking made the man born in Karawang on May 14 2001 rely on the visual movement of the shuttlecock in the air and this is the power of Ilyas. In the men's singles final, Ilyas defeated Hong Kong athlete, Lau Ch with the score 21-19 and 21-15. He won the second gold from the men's doubles with Salim Mandek after defeating Indian pair, Anand / Kusghara, with the score 18-21, 21-14 and 22-20. While the third gold he gained after pairing with Dzakiya Amalia Ma'ruf (17) in the mixed doubles by defeating Indian pair: Hkt Anand / Jelin with the score 21-18 and 22-20. The glorious and enchanting appearance of Ilyas made the international spectator spill support by pointing two flat fingers towards the arena. Interpreter of the sign language from the School of Special Education Teachers (SGPLB) Bandung, Tolibul Hadi said that the two flat fingers with a wavy swing is a visualization of a red and white flag arranged horizontally. The two-finger sign was again seen when the medal surrender ceremony was held and Indonesia’s flag was hoisted on the podium.
