Labengki Island is located in Labengki Island, Lasolo district, North Konawe regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The distance is around 70 kilometers from Kendari City. The island consists of some clusters of big and small atolls.
From Kendari City, you can go directly to Kendari seaport. From the port, you can rent a boat to Labengki Island. The tariff to rent it depends on the agreement between you and the boat owner. The trip takes around 4 until 5 hours depending on weather.
Labengki Island is occupied by Bajo tribe. The island has beautiful natural panorama with white sand and clear sea water. Besides its beautiful land, Labengki also has beautiful undersea. In here, there are beautiful spots for diving. You can watch marine biota of Labengki which is still natural.
Surrounding waters of the island can be found various species of Kima or Ginat shell. Kima is known as the biggest kima in the world so that the area of Labengki Island becomes research, conservation and breeding of Kima.
In additional to diving, another activity which can be conducted on Labengki Island is fishing. Some kinds of fish, which can be caught, are grouper, barracuda, sailfish, yellow fin tuna, and red snapper. If you catch the fish, it can be grilled and becomes your dinner.
