Indonesia is a paradise of natural tourism destination. One of Indonesia’s regions, which can become your destination, is Banyuwangi. For you who have ever been there, certainly you know how beautiful Red beach and another natural panorama are. There is one place which should be visited if you are in Banyuwangi namely Songgon tourism village. Songgon is a district in Banyuwangi which is located on highland, precisely on the slope of Mt. Raung. It takes around 2 hours on foot from Banyuwangi to Songgon. But, long trip will be paid when witnessing green landscape that makes your eyes fresh. Songgon, which is geographically located at mountainous area, has many beautiful natural tourism potentials.

Songgon pine forest was officially opened for public in October 2016. The forest offers various interesting activities, such as riding horse, taking picture, or seeing scenery from tree house. Visitors only pay a ticket worth Rp 5,000. While to try other vehicles such as riding horse, hammocking, or camping will be charged again. At Songgon, we can see not only pine forest, but also Badheng river which has heavy streaming. This can stimulate your adrenalin for rafting. Badheng Songgon river is categorized safe for rafting. It takes around two hours to finish rafting line which has 25 rapids.

For you who love to spend your time silently, you can visit Rowo Bayu. The place is a lake with green water at the middle of 8-hectar pine forest on the slope of Mt. Raung. This Rowo or in English means swamp is place where 3 springs meet, namely Sendang Keputren, Sendang Wigangga, and Sendang Kamulyan located at Bayu village, Songgon district, Banyuwangi regency. The best time to visit Rowo Bayu is in December.

At Songgon, there is also beautiful waterfall, namely Temcor. Temcor is from Madura language, Temor Cora meaning Timur Jurang or in English means cliff at the East. Because, the location of the waterfall is at the East of the cliff. Trekking to the location of the waterfall takes enough energy. But, it will be paid when seeing scenery along the trip. Next destination is Bejong villa. This villa is actually not tourism object. Bejong villa is used for guesthouse at night. Because a lot of people who share photographs Bejong villa on instagram, finally the villa is opened for public. Each visitor will be charged Rp 5,000. Taking picture and enjoying the freshness of air become the main activities that can be done at the villa. The most favorite spot is at mosque. Vintage architecture of the villa with green plantation surrounding area becomes beautiful background for selfie.

Indonesia and United Arab Emirates agreed 16 cooperations in various sectors. They are 5 Government to Government and 11 Business to Business. Indonesia and United Arab Emirates agreed to join hand in a project valued 22.89 billion USD and UAE will participate in 30 percent of it or around 6.8 billion USD. President Joko Widodo and UEA Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed witnessed the cooperation signing.

That was the result of Indonesian President Joko Widodo’s visit to United Arab Emirates on Sunday (12/1). After accompanying President Joko Widodo in series of state events in Abu Dhabi, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi to media in Abu Dhabi on Sunday revealed the results.

Press conference was held after all state agenda of President Joko Widodo at Qasr Al Watan Palace. MInister Retno Marsudi held the press conference along with Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Luhut Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Economy Airlangga Hartarto, State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, and Indonesian Ambassador for United Arab Emirates Husin Bagis.

The visit of President Joko Widodo to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates did not only result in business agreements. There were also non-business agreements. As quoted from presidential press release, some agreements were made in bilateral meeting between President Jokowi and Prince Mohamed Bin Zayed. The five cooperation between both governments were religion, education, agriculture, health, and counterterrorism.

President Joko Widodo said, Indonesia wanted to make United Arab Emirates as partner in modern, moderate, and tolerance Islamic education. This is very important in the effort to prevent extremism and terrorism. Cooperation to promote religious moderation concepts, tolerance, as well as to increase public awareness towards extremism became a point agreed in the bilateral meeting.

Meanwhile, Prince Mohamed bin Zayed said, Indonesia is a country of most Muslim population in the world. Therefore, Islam in Indonesia can be the example of peaceful Islam.

Kevin              : Oh, nama saya Kevin Smith. Panggil saja Kevin.

After the conversation, now I am going to introduce some vocabularies and expressions related to the topic today. I say each word slowly and twice, you can follow after me.

Kenalkan, saya Imran                     which means            Hello, I am Imran

In the conversation there are two persons who get acquaintanceship. One of them said Kenalkan, saya Imran. To introduce yourself you can start by saying kenalkan or perkenalkan.

For example:

Kenalkan, nama saya Imran(hello, my name Imran)

Perkenalkan, saya Kevin     (hello, I am Kevin)                                                          

In the introduction, you can say directly your name: nama saya Kevinor just saying saya Kevin.

In Indonesia, after meet someone, people usually ask about condition, for example:

Kevin   : Kenalkan, nama saya Kevin.

Imran   : Saya Imran.

Kevin   : Oh, Hai Imran. Apa kabar? 

When getting acquainted with other people, Indonesians will usually shake hands. Sometimes, they shake hands with one hand using the right hand and some others use two hands. If you use your left hand, you are considered impolite.

Badung Regency Government, Bali, through the local Tourism Office and Board of Badung Regional Tourism Promotion  held a Sales Mission in early 2020 through a series of activities in India on 6-10 January 2020. Head of  Badung Tourism Office, I Made Badra in the Kuta, Badung explained on Tuesday (14/1) that India is chosen as the Sales Mission  target of this year  because the country is an emerging market that has huge potential to contribute to the achievement of tourists visits by 2020.

Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, held a bilateral meeting with  French Defense Minister /  Florence Parly, at the Office of the French Ministry of Defense in Paris (13/01).  Minister Prabowo   was accompanied by the Indonesian Ambassador, Special Assistant to the Defense Minister, Chair of the Defense Industrial Policy Committee, Operations Assistant Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force and Commander of the Navy's Staff and Command of Defense School  who were warmly welcomed by  French Defense Minister Florence Parly and French Ministry of Defense officials. Indonesian Defense Minister received a Military Honor Ceremony at the French Ministry of Defense as an early  series of bilateral meeting.  At the second meeting / Indonesian  Minister of Defense discussed steps to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries, and efforts to advance the Indonesian defense industries.

Indonesian Embassy in Cairo released the journey of Hakam Mabruri by cycling across the African continent from Cairo, Egypt to Cape Town, South Africa (01/13/2020). Hakam  will explore a distance of more than 10,000 kilometers for one year to reach African continent across Sudan, Etiophia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. Hakam also explained that he wants to introduce to those countries  that Indonesia as a Muslim-majority country is a friendly  nation  and  full of tolerance.
