Indonesia and Egypt sign purchasing contract for 120 tons of elephant ginger

Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Lutfi Rauf  appreciated the commitment and transaction contract for big white/yellow ginger products, also known aselephant gingerorrhinoceros ginger.  He also hopes that other products can also be explored to strengthen trade relations between Indonesia and Egypt.  In his written statement in Jakarta on  Tuesday (2/5),  Ambassador Lutfi Rauf  accompanied by Trade Attache and Secretary II for Economy of  the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo and staff witnessed the signing of a contract for trade transactions for elephant ginger products between Indonesian company, CV Al Malaibari,  and Egyptian company, El Khalada Misr Industry Egypt Company.

 

He further said  the potential of Indonesia and Egypt is very large. Egypt with a population of 110 million people and Indonesia reaching 270 million people is a big market. Thus,  business opportunities and investments need to be optimized.  Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Syahran Bhakti explained that in doing business with Egypt, the payment system offered needs to be considered so that transactions do not experience obstacles.

 

Meanwhile, the representative of Al Malaibari, Muhammad Rifki  pointed out that his side is currently ready to fulfill the demand for elephant ginger from Egyptian entrepreneurs of 120 tons for 10 containers over the next three months  with a value of US$ 156,000 or around Rp2.28 billion.  The company located in Cirebon, West Java has also previously exported nutmeg products for the Egyptian market. Egyptian businessman El Sayed El Sayed Fahem said, he is ready to cooperate with Indonesia in business.  Currently, apart from elephant ginger, his side will explore importing pineapple and other tropical fruit products from Indonesia.
