“Israel's actions have clearly violated International Humanitarian Law. (Israel) targets hospitals, medical workers, and patients who should be protected and not targeted," he said, as quoted from the DPR official website on Monday (25/3/2024).
He spoke at the forum as Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Body (BKSAP) of the DPR. The forum took place on March 23-28, 2024, and was attended by 96 members of parliament from various countries around the world.
Fadli urged Israel to respect international humanitarian law and stop various attacks on innocent people in Palestine. He also regretted that there were still countries that supported Israel's actions.
"Big countries are trying to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestine, but they continue to provide weapons and financial support to Israel. To countries that have supported Israel, stop applying double standards," he said.
He emphasized that Indonesia "firmly rejects all forms of colonialism above the earth". Fadli also encouraged parliamentary diplomacy to contribute concretely to realizing peace in Palestine.
The DPR has again submitted a proposal for a peace resolution on Palestine. This proposed resolution received support from world parliaments present, especially in the parliamentary forum of Islamic countries.
