The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan highlighted the increase in confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in four provinces, including West Sumatra, Riau, East Kalimantan, and Papua.
"In the four provinces I mentioned earlier, it rose 7 percent from 13.4 percent at the beginning of the 9-15 September 2020 period to 20.5 percent in the 14-20 October 2020 period," said Luhut Pandjaitan at a virtual meeting on handling COVID-19, Jakarta. Wednesday (21/10).
Luhut Pandjaitany, who is also Deputy Chair of the Policy Committee for the Control of COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery, also asked relevant officials to pay special attention to the four provinces.
"I ask the Task Force Commander, Minister of Health, Governors, Commander of the Main Command, Police, please look. So I will also pay attention to these four provinces, West Sumatra, East Kalimantan, Riau, and Papua," said Luhut Pandjaitan in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday.
Luhut also said that the involvement of the Indonesian Army-Police in carrying out the justice operation as an effort to reduce the number of the spread of COVID-19 was impactful.
This, he said, was seen in East Java Province, where because of changes in people's behavior, the positive number of COVID-19 had decreased.
"This data is real time. We hope that in areas with high cases, it is done like in East Java Province. So the cooperation between the Governor, the Police, the Commander of the Main Command, the Health Service is very important," said Luhut Pandjaitan.
The four provinces were also asked to ensure that there was a centralized quarantine system as an effort so that patients with OTG or low symptoms did not transmit to other people during independent isolation.
The Ministry of Health must also ensure the availability of drugs, ICU beds, and understand the clinical management of COVID-19 treatment.
The Ministry of Health was also asked to check the management of the referral hospitals again.
"Then to ensure the availability of all medical aspects, the availability of drugs, reagents, bed capacity, and the socialization of clinical management for COVID-19 patients, it goes well," said Luhut.
The government has planned three strategies in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. First, behavior change and early detection of spread, secondly the construction of quarantine and isolation centers, and third management of COVID-19 treatment.
"I ask all of us to refer to the three strategies, both from the Ministry of Health, the Task Force and the Governor, the Police, the Commander of the Main Command. All of us refer to that strategy so we really are a team, so no one goes independently," he said. (Antaranews)
The naming of President Joko Widodo's road does not affect Indonesia's support for Palestine
Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said that the naming of President Joko Widodo's street in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was a form of the United Arab Emirates' appreciation for the Indonesian nation. In addition, the naming of roads also shows the improvement of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Although the United Arab Emirates is strengthening cooperative relations with Israel, Moeldoko stated that the naming of the road would not affect Indonesia's support for the Palestinian cause.
Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Wednesday (21/10/2020) in Jakarta said that the naming of President Joko Widodo's streets in Abu Dhabi shows the development of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.
According to him, this shows the appreciation of the United Arab Emirates for Joko Widodo's leadership in Indonesia.
Not only the improvement of economic relations between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates, according to Moeldoko, an increase in cooperative relations between the two countries also occurred in many sectors, including the cultural sector.
"I think we interpret diplomatic relations in a broader sense not only from an economic perspective but from a broader sense of how to build cultural relations, build relations between social sectors and so on," he said.
Although the United Arab Emirates is one country that is strengthening relations with Israel, according to Moeldoko, Indonesia still adheres to the free and active politics that has been running so far.
According to him, Indonesia's position in supporting the Palestinian cause will not be affected even though President Joko Widodo's name is assigned to the name of a street in Abu Dhabi.
"Our foreign policy is a free and active politics and it is believed and carried out by every leader of the country. The second is that our foreign policy towards Palestine has never changed at all. So it remains like that. It will not be affected by naming a road," he added.
President Joko Widodo's name is used as the name of a road section in Abu Dhabi. According to a written statement from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the United Arab Emirates, the inauguration of the street name was on 19 October 2020.
The inauguration was carried out by the member and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UEA) Husin Bagis.
Husin Bagis said President Joko Widodo's road is on one of the main roads, which divides ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center) with an area that is occupied by several diplomatic representative offices.
In response to this, President Joko Widodo, through social media, said that naming roads is an appreciation and respect for Indonesia.
According to him, this is an illustration of how close the relationship between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates has been working together in various fields. (VOI)
The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia limits only 10 percent of management and supervisors who may work in the office (Work From Office/WFO) when implementing the Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB).
"The government has agreed to allow management and supervisors who are in office for states (provinces) that undergo PKPB," said Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali in Putrajaya, Wednesday.
The Malaysian government has implemented a PKPB in the State of Selangor, the Kuala Lumpur Alliance Region, and Putrajaya from 14 October to 27 October 2020 related to the increase in COVID-19.
Those who are allowed by WFO include tasks involving accounting, finance, administration, legislation/law, planning, and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
"This decision was taken as a shared responsibility to protect the health of the people and workers," he said.
He said they were justified in being in the office, limited to only four hours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for three days a week.
For this purpose, said Mohamed Azmin, companies do not need to submit requests.
"Management only needs to issue travel permits for each staff member who may work throughout the PKPB period.
Employers also need to set guidelines following the needs of their respective companies," he said.
MITI implemented a decision by the State Security Council (MKN) to have industry introduce a Work From Home (WFH) basis for management and supervisory staff.
Azmin said that based on the MITI COVID-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS) database system, the number of workers registered in the production, service, and construction sectors in Sabah, Labuan, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Putrajaya was 3.1 million people. (Antaranews)
