VOINews, Beijing: Beijing Daxing International Airport has set a new record for annual foreign traveler arrivals and departures, with over 1 million individuals passing through its immigration checkpoints this year.
According to immigration authorities at the airport on Friday (6/12), the milestone follows the implementation of policies aimed at facilitating foreign arrivals. These include expanding the number of visa-free countries, attracting visitors from around the globe to explore China.
The airport’s international flight network continues to grow, currently offering connections to 43 destinations across 25 countries and regions, including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. This expansion underscores Beijing Daxing's role as a major global travel hub.
During the winter-spring flight season, the airport plans to introduce routes to new destinations such as Sydney, Melbourne, Vientiane, and Casablanca. Additionally, there are plans to launch flights to Africa and North America while increasing flight frequency to the Middle East and Russia, further enhancing international travel options.
Beijing Daxing International Airport is also among nine ports approved by China’s National Immigration Administration (NIA) to allow 24-hour direct transit for foreign nationals without requiring border inspection procedures.
This initiative, along with a growing flight network, positions Daxing Airport as a strategic gateway for international travelers and a key player in bolstering China’s connectivity with the world.
The continued expansion of destinations and facilitation measures reflects China's commitment to fostering global tourism and trade. The airport's growing international presence is expected to contribute significantly to the nation’s economic and cultural exchange efforts.
