President Joko Widodo responded to the shooting involving the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and personnel of Indonesian Armed Forces in Mugi District, Nduga District, Papua. He said that he has instructed the security forces to resolve security terror in Papua since the same incident occurred some time ago. He also explained that the dense-forest condition in the Nduga district made it difficult for the security apparatus to solve the problem of the Armed Criminal Group.

"I ordered since the first tragedy to be pursued and resolved, but we must do know Nduga, and how the terrain of the area is. This is not something easy; the terrain is dense forest. We have been there. So, it is also not easy for the personnel of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police to pursue and resolve this. Because, the terrain is really hard and wild," President Joko Widodo said.

Previously, it was reported that there were three TNI soldiers joined in the Gakkum Task Force, reportedly killed in gunfire with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Mugi District, Nduga District, Papua on Thursday. The three soldiers who passed away are Mirwariyadin, Yusdin, and Siswanto Bayu Aji. The Gakkum satgas forces, which numbered 25 people, were tasked with carrying out safeguards in the context of the process of shifting TNI forces that would carry out security and construction of Trans Papua Wamena-Mumugu infrastructure in Nduga District. Troops were attacked suddenly by around 50 to 70 members of the KKB armed with both military standard weapons and traditional weapons, such as arrows and spears. (VOI/Ndy/RHM)

In preparation for the Hindu Day of Silence (Nyepi), thousands of people performed the Tawur Agung Kesanga ceremony todWednesday, March 6, 2019, at the Prambanan Temple in Sleman, Yogyakarta.

Other than from Yogyakarta and Central Java, the people came from Bali and other Indonesian cities as well. The ritual was attended by the Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin on behalf of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.

The head of Indonesian Hindu Religious Councils (PHDI), retired Major General Wisnu Bawa Tenaya, said that the purpose of the Tawur Agung Kesanga procession was to build harmony with the natural elements; water, air, earth, fire, and space.

"In this disharmony condition, those five elements may cause disaster for all creatures, so the five elements must be integrated to achieve happiness for the universe and all beings," Wisnu added.

Wisnu further called on all people, especially the millennial generation, to have a dream. However, he also noted that such a dream cannot be separated from national and the country's dream. Wisnu added that the dream of the Republic of Indonesia is to achieve independence, unity, and prosperity.

Meanwhile, Minister Lukman invited the Hindu religious community to support a peaceful 2019 election. (TEMPO.CO.ID)
