China`s Prime Minister Li Keqiang has called on Chinese firms investing in Indonesia to give priority to recruiting local workers in their respective companies.

"We have called on Chinese companies investing in Indonesia to employ mostly Indonesian workers," Li stated at a joint press conference with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace on Monday.

Li noted that with more job opportunities in Indonesia, both countries could benefit from the investment.

On the other hand, the premier has called on the Indonesian government to simplify the administrative process for Chinese firms to invest in the country.

The bilateral meeting between President Widodo and Premier Li also discussed issues on cooperation in Halal food and Muslim fashion.

"We are pleased to invest in Indonesia in Halal food and Muslim fashion. Thus, together we can develop third markets," Li remarked.

He believed that the cooperation can be improved further, as the Muslim population in China has reached 20 million.

PM Li has expressed hope that China`s cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) would bring significant and strategic results.

China has stressed its commitment to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea.

"Despite any dispute or disagreement, we will surely cooperate to maintain stability in the region," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, President Widodo noted that the ASEAN, which contributed significantly to peace and stability in the region, must improve its performance.

The president has also called on China to support Palestine in its fight for freedom.

PM Li is on a state visit to Indonesia on May 6-8. Li was scheduled to visit the ASEAN Secretariat and attend the Indonesia-China Business Summit. (ANTARA)

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) welcomed the arrival of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang at the Bogor Presidential Palace on Monday.

The president welcomed Prime Minister Keqiang in the front yard of the palace at 10:30 a.m. local time.

Several students standing in front of the palace fence welcomed the arrival of Prime Minister Keqiang`s vehicle bearing the small flags of Indonesia and China.

Prime Minister Keqiang entered the courtyard of the Presidential Palace of Bogor aboard a vehicle and was escorted by troops comprising troop riders and drum band of the president`s security forces to the terrace of the palace.

The state ceremony was held to welcome Prime Minister Keqiang with a 19-cannon fire salute at the same time as the national anthem was played.

The Indonesian head of state and head of the Chinese government listened to the Indonesian national anthem and "Yi Yong Jun Jon Xing Qu."

President Jokowi and Prime Minister Keqiang will hold bilateral meetings to discuss cooperation in several sectors and conducted a joint tree planting.

During Prime Minister Keqiang`s official stay in Indonesia, he will also visit the ASEAN Secretariat to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of China's strategic partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

In addition, Keqiang will attend the Indonesia-China Business Summit.

This is the second visit of Prime Minister Keqiang to Indonesia. Keqiang had earlier paid a visit when he was deputy prime minister of China in 2008. (ANTARA)

Indonesia is now entering political years both Regional Head Election -Pilkada in 2018 and Presidential Election -Pilpres in 2019. Any possible problems in political years must be anticipated accurately by carrying out synergy between related institutions such as the Indonesian Military –TNI and Indonesian National Police –Polri. This was affirmed by Minister of Defense, Ryamizard Ryacudu to media after giving briefing to personnel of battalion 467 Air Force Special Corps in Jakarta  on Friday (04/05).

“I will hold a meeting with the Chiefs of Indonesian Military and Indonesian National Police to set up how to handle possible problems of political years. The important thing is that we are ready. We must be ready for any situation. This situation must be overcome with this situation and that situation must be overcome by that situation. I hope in any kinds of situation, it must be overcome well,” Ryamizard Ryacudu said.

Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu further explained that the personnel of the Indonesian Military must be professional ones by focusing on their duties. He asked the TNI personnel to be loyal at the existing law and regulation as the highest commander that must be respected. (VOI/AF/RHM)

Cyber threat has been more worrying for Indonesian resilience. To anticipate the cyber-attack, Indonesian Defense Ministry sends a team to foreign country to learn several handlings of cyber-crime. This was affirmed by Minister of Defense, Ryamizard Ryacudu to media after giving briefing to personnel of Indonesian Special Army at the Headquarters in Jakarta on Friday afternoon (04/05).

“I am sending 10 personnel to foreign country to learn cyber-crime handling. I send the best personnel to learn cyber-crime handling in Europe. They must be well-trained. I take the personnel graduated from Strata 1 and Strata 2 degree having defending state. They are experts of information and technology. I hope that the Indonesian Ministry cyber is the best in Southeast Asia,” Ryamizard Ryacudu said.

Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu further said that his Ministry plans to recruit other best team personnel to learn cyber-crime handling in foreign country. (VOI/AF/RHM)
