Malaysian Tanker vessel named MT Pratama 128, that was previously reported missing, has been found in the Rupat Island waters, Dumai, Riau province, by the Indonesian Navy on Tuesday.  Malaysia`s Director General of Maritime Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abi Bakar told the local Daily Mail that during the initial investigation, he had gained information that the ship was hijacked by its own crew.

"We cooperated with the Indonesian Navy and discovered the ship. The Malaysian Maritime is currently in the negotiation process to bring the ship back," he said.
He further stated that thus far in the investigation, he did not find any robbery or piracy elements in the incident.

"The vessel is being closely watched through radars and patrols, but we believe that the crew simply saw an opportunity when the patrol officers returned to the bay, and took it," he added.
The Malaysian Maritime, he continued, will continue cooperation with the Indonesian Navy to investigate the direction that the vessel is being taken.

Previously, Malaysia`s tanker vessel MT Pratama 128, that was being held under the Malaysian Maritime, was reportedly gone missing on Monday.
The vessel was taken into custody for violating the Merchant Shipping Ordinance of 1953. ( antara )

The Indonesian Navy expects to have 20 fast missile boats of 60 meters (KCR 60 metres) by 2024 to strengthen the national armaments system in accordance with the minimum essential force (MEF) target.

The Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Ade Supandi, stated here on Tuesday ( 27/ 2 ) that in order to achieve the target he has encouraged PT PAL  Indonesia to increase its human resources to support the target. PT PAL is an Indonesian state-owned enterprise that manufactures ships for military and civilian use and conducts repairs and maintenance on ships and its engineering.

Supandi asserted that the 60 M fast missile boats are needed as they have a combat strength that is in accordance with the Indonesian territory. The boats are able to quickly hit the enemy's defense and move freely. In order to meet the target, it is expected that at least three fast missile boats would be manufactured every year, but the target depends on the government policy.

Meanwhile, the Director of PT PAL Indonesia, Budiman Saleh, remarked that the company is ready to meet the Navy`s target under cooperation and continue to develop the latest military technology weaponry according to the needs of the Navy ( antara )
