South Sulawesi Government has ensured that local products will become the icons at the International Handicraft Trade Fair (Inacraft) 2021.  This was revealed when the Head of the South Sulawesi Regional Crafts Council, Lies F Nurdin, received a visit from the Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Producers Association (ASEPHI) at the Governor's Office, Makassar, Monday as quoted by Antara News Agency. The products include handicrafts, tourism, culture, arts and culinary items unique to the province. ASEPHI Secretary General, Baby Jumawati explained that (God willing) South Sulawesi will become the icon for Inacraft next year. Jumawati also stated the province was chosen as the icon of the event in 2021 based on the examinations of the local government's readiness to hold the event. Not only crafts, there will also be tourism, culture, art, and culinary products that would be displayed, as Inacraft is the biggest promotion event for all Southeast Asian countries// Voi.Ant

Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo still keeps on observing the condition of 78 Indonesian citizens on Diamond Princess cruise ship who are in a quarantine process in   Yokohama Seaport, Japan. Until Monday (Feb17), they have been in healthy condition. Coordinator of Information and Social Culture Office of Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Eko Junor as reported by Republika.co.id on Monday (17/2) the evacuation of member crews of cruise ship has not been done yet. The repatriation plan after the quarantine period should be prepared and conducted along with the crews. Rocket attacks again hit US military Headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq. This rocket attack hit a military base located near the US Embassy in Iraq. Reported by AFP on Sunday (02/16/2020), the attack occurred on Sunday morning which was a series of efforts to destroy US assets in the country. US military sources and a Western diplomat said that it was not known what was affected by the attack. AFP contributors heard several sounds of the rocket explosion followed by the roar of military aircraft circling near the Green Zone, the area where the US mission was located. This is the 19th attack since October targeting the US embassy or military base consisting of 5,200 US troops in Iraq. There is no claim on who carried out the attack, but the US suspected the attack was carried out by an Iranian-backed group, Hashed al-Shaabi, a military network officially incorporated into Iraqi security forces. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin encouraged regional governments to innovate in developing tourism in their regions. He wants the region to have a tourism center in a bid to encourage community economic improvement. This was conveyed by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin after a working visit to the Old Banten Archaeological Museum in order to open an archipelago exploring artifact exhibition of the Prophet Muhammad in Serang, Banten, on Sunday (16/2). On the occasion, Vice President Ma'ruf appreciated the efforts of the Banten Provincial Government to revitalize a number of tourism objects in the Old Banten region which has historical value. He considered the sites with historical values have potential for tourist visits. Therefore, he also hopes that the innovation will be followed by other regions. According to VP Ma'ruf Amin, the government will provide support to the regions that want to develop their regions. (ROL-MAR)
