VOINews, Jakarta: A delegation from the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) visited Bucharest, Romania, from July 30 to 31, 2024, for official meetings with key Romanian officials.
According to a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Bucharest, received by ANTARA in Jakarta on Saturday, the visit aimed to hold discussions with the Chairman of the Romanian Parliament and the President of the Romanian Constitutional Court.
The delegation was led by Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Chairman of the MPR's Research and Development Agency, along with Vice Chairmen Benny Kabur Harman, Agun Gunanjar Sudarsa, and Tifatul Sembiring.
During the visit, the delegation met with Mircia Chelaru, Chairman of the Romanian Parliament's Constitutional Committee, and Marian Enache, President of the Romanian Constitutional Court, along with their respective teams.
Indonesian Ambassador to Bucharest Meidyatama Suryodiningrat and his staff also attended both meetings.
The meetings were held separately and were intended for reference studies and the exchange of best practices. They focused on sharing information related to constitutional systems, their implementation, and their impact on national legal systems and regulations in both Romania and Indonesia.
The visit is expected to provide insights, references, and recommendations on constitutional systems in a holistic and comprehensive manner.
Additionally, the visit aims to enhance future cooperation between Indonesia and Romania.//Antara/VOI
