Indonesian President Joko Widodo received the 'Medal of Ghazi Amanullah' from the Afghan President. The award was made at a state-of-the-art dinner hosted by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani at the Presidential Palace of Arg, Afghanistan, Monday, January 29, 2018.
This medal is a tribute to President Jokowi for his determination and courage in advancing bilateral relations between Indonesia and Afghanistan, especially in pursuing the peace building in Afghanistan.
"Thank you for the Medal. This medal will be a new spirit to improve bilateral relations and peace," said President Jokowi.
Meanwhile, in his speech at a state lunch, President Jokowi said that everyone has the right to enjoy peace.
"Peace is not a situation that comes from heaven and peace must be sought," President Jokowi said.
The President further said that Indonesia always provides support for reconciliation and peace in Afghanistan through peace building.
"Let us join hands to create peace. Let us join hands to keep peace, let us join hands to create a prosperous world for all," said President Jokowi.
The President believes that with Allah's grace, peace, unity and development will be achieved.
"I am sure that with the blessings of Allah, peace, unity and development will be achieved together, I always pray for the health of President Ghani and the prosperity of our people," said President Jokowi. (Release: Protocol, Press and Media of Presidential Secretariat)
