The Jakarta Model United Nations (Jakarta MUN) 2018 series of events was closed at the National Library Building, Sunday, August 12, 2018 right on International Youth Day. To enliven the International Youth Day, Jakarta MUN 2018 organized an interactive talk-show session with the theme "How Youth Can Increase the World's Human Potential by Eradicating Gender Bias and Discrimination for a Better Generation ". The theme leads to one of the issues discussed by the United Nations contained in the 5th Sustainable Development Goals, namely "Ensure women's full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision, with political, economic and public life". In her closing speech, Acting Director UNIC Eshila Maravanyika asked young people to make every opportunity a means of learning.
“Make every opportunity a learning experience. Make every opportunity that you heard that city neighbors next to you that you don't know you build the network. You're going to build the network that is going to make world a better place. The UN is there to make the world better place. And if we work with young people we know the world will be the best place. We always praise for our confident on you,” Eshila Maravanyika said.
Eshilla hoped with the end of the entire Jakarta MUN 2018 program, the awareness of the participants on the importance of cooperation as one of the important elements in realizing sustainable development goals can increase. Jakarta Model United Nations 2018 carries the theme "Advancing Sustainable Development Through Diplomacy". Through this theme it is expected that the participants will be close to international issues including the issue of sustainable development. Jakarta MUN 2018 is the eighth held by Indonesian Students Association for International Studies (ISAFIS) in collaboration with United Nations Information Center (UNIC) which was attended by 120 participants from various high schools and universities in Indonesia. After undergoing the first medical examination, presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Sandiaga Uno had the opportunity to meet with reporters. Both of them underwent medical tests at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital -RSPAD Jakarta, Monday (8/13) morning. Prabowo Subianto said, to undergo a series of medical tests, he was ordered by a doctor to fast from 8 pm.
“I’ve checked my blood, ultrasound, teeth, urine, from 7 o'clock untul 5 or 6. Hopefully I fast,” said Prabowo Subianto

Presidential candidate Joko Widodo and His Running Mate Ma'ruf Amin have completed a medical examination. To the press, Joko Widodo said he believed that he and vice-presidential candidate Ma'ruf Amin are still healthy and fit. This was conveyed by Presidential Candidate Joko Widodo after undergoing a medical examination at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital-RSPAD, Jakarta, Sunday (12/8) night. Meanwhile, Ma'ruf Amin expressed his appreciation for the services of the extraordinary doctors.
“Alhamdulillahirobbil 'alamin ... I and Professor KH. Ma'ruf Amin have completed our health examination. God willing, everything is healthy. Because if we see, he is still in good health, I am still in good health, from morning to night. Indeed, my time is a little faster, because it starts faster. Furthermore, we may enter the stage determined by the General Election Commission (KPU),” Joko Widodo said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association, Prof. Dr. Ilham Oetama Marsis Sp. OG (K), conveyed, this health assessment was based on law number 7 of 2017 on General Elections which was then regulated by the General Election Commission -KPU regulation number 22 of 2018 regarding the nomination of the presidential and vice presidential election participants. He said health checks for presidential and vice-presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno are to be conducted on Monday (8/13). Health examination results for the two presidential and vice presidential candidates will be submitted two days after Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno undergo the health examination. General Election Commission (KPU) Chairman Arief Budiman has said all the pairs must fulfill all the requirements to be declared as presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2019 presidential election.
"All the conditions must be fulfilled cumulatively. If all have been fulfilled, all will be determined," Budiman remarked when met at the Health Examination Unit of Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Jakarta, on Sunday afternoon.
Budiman visited the hospital for the second time to review health checks for Joko Widodo and Ma`ruf Amin (Jokowi-Ma`ruf Pair) that was ongoing since 08 am WIB on Sunday.
He said the health examination was one of a number of requirements for prospective pairs to be appointed as presidential and vice presidential candidates, but he did not specify what other requirements are.
He has not been able to ascertain the timing of the submission of the results of the health examination of the presidential and vice presidential candidates the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) to the KPU.
"The examination results will determine whether the presidential and vice presidential candidates are truly healthy and able to carry out their duties when elected as president or vice president," Budiman said.
He said the KPU had scheduled to set the presidential election on August 20, 2019.
In addition to the Jokowi-Ma`ruf pair, the future presidential and vice presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga S Uno (Prabowo-Uno Pair) will undergo a medical examination on Monday.
He also explained that the medical examination for the presidential and vice presidential candidates was only done once at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital. (ANTARA)
