State-owned electricity company PLN has increased electricity supply to meet the power requirements during the 2018 Asian Games. Jakarta Raya Distribution PLN General Manager M. Ikhsan Asaad noted in a press statement in Jakarta on Friday that  eight months prior to the 2018 Asian Games event, PLN has boosted electricity supply to meet the needs during the 2018 Asian Games. One of the efforts is to increase the capacity of the substation in Senayan, South Jakarta. The substation will become one of the main sources of power supply to several venues of the 2018 Asian Games at the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex, Senayan, Jakarta.
Jakarta Raya Distribution PLN has expressed readiness to support the 2018 Asian Games event.
The company has allocated 71 billion Rupiah, to increase electricity supply during the 2018 Asian Games.The XVIII Asian Games are scheduled to be held in two cities, Jakarta, the capital city, and Palembang in South Sumatra, from August 18 to September 2, 2018. Indonesian Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla visited the local residents displaced by Mount Agung`s eruptions at the Tanah Ampo command post, Rendang Village, Manggis Sub-district, Karangasem District, Bali Province, in Karangasem Bali on Saturday (30/12).The vice president inspected the provision of logistics for the evacuees and inquired about the status from the local officers.  Jusuf Kalla expressed concern over the condition of evacuees, particularly senior citizens, who have to stay at refugee camps and children, who have not been able to attend school.Mount Agung has intensified its volcanic activities since September.President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President M Jusuf Kalla on Dec 22 chaired a limited cabinet meeting in Bali to assure the world on the safety of Bali and its readiness to receive as many tourists as possible.  Following the meeting, the government also declared that it had revoked an emergency status of Mount Agung.The emergency status had scared many foreign countries, prompting them to issue a travel warning, travel advisory, or even travel ban, which are unnecessary because most parts of Bali remain safe and unaffected by the eruptions////antara
