VOINews.id, Jakarta: Three Indonesian presidential candidates in the upcoming 2024 elections expressed their ideas on Indonesian foreign policy in the debate between the three presidential candidates on Sunday (7/1). The debate was held by the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) at Istora Senayan, in Jakarta. Lasting for almost three hours, the debate raised defense, security, international relations, globalization, and geopolitics.
VOInews, Jakarta: Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia, Suharti, said that education is a pillar of Indonesia's development.
"Education is one of the pillars of nation building, the Indonesian nation will not advance if its citizens do not improve their level of education," Suharti said at the Indonesian Student Movement for the World held by the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) World, Saturday (6/1/2024) at the National Library Audiotorium Jakarta.
Therefore, she emphasized, the state has the duty to ensure that all Indonesian citizens receive quality education services.
"It is our duty, the duty of the state, to ensure that all Indonesian citizens receive quality education services, not only to have academic competence, intellectually intelligent, but also with superior character including global diversity," Suharti said.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture Suharti hopes that through the event themed "Broad Insight, Global Soul, World Achievement", PPI World members can motivate and provide enthusiasm in pursuing knowledge without limits to all students in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Head of Cooperation and Scholarship Development Division of LPDP Agam Bayu Suryanto said that to form Indonesian students with a global outlook, they must dare to study abroad.
"I encourage you to go abroad, as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture said earlier, let us not be like frogs in a shell, narrow horizons. We at LPDP are very concertative, technology, distance learning for us, does not tolerate. If you want to study abroad, go abroad," he said.
VOInews, Jakarta: Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said the Z generation will be the leaders and drivers of change to realize a Indonesia Emas 2045. In her remarks at the Indonesian Student Movement Going Global event held by the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) World, Saturday (6/1/2024) at the National Library Audiotorium in Jakarta, she emphasized that to realize the Indonesia Emas in 2045, hard work and a big vision of Indonesia are needed.
"In 2045, Indonesia is predicted to become the fourth largest economy in the world. Of course, this does not happen by itself, it takes hard work and Indonesia's big vision," Foreign Minister Retno said.
"As generation Z, you will be the leaders and drivers of change at that time, and with the challenges of the world that could be more complex. This nation needs a young generation that is creative, innovative, competitive, and globally minded," she added.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Retno also invited all Indonesian students through the Indonesian Students Worldwide Movement to always try to maintain diversity and love Indonesia in realizing the Indonesia Emas 2045 Vision.
Indonesia Emas 2045 vision is a development goal set by the Indonesian Government to achieve a Sovereign, Advanced, Just and Prosperous Indonesia in 2045.
