PLN Gradually Recovers Electricity Supply (0)
State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has recovered electric power to Balaraja Extra High Voltage substation in Banten Province, and furthermore it will be channeled to Suralaya steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) to gradually recover its operation to reach its capacity of 2800 MW of electricity.
In addition, power supply from Gandul Extra High Voltage substations in Depok, West Java Province, will be channeled to Muara Karang gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) to supply electricity to the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta.
Acting President Director of PLN Sripeni Inten Cahyani said here on Sunday that the power supply to Jakarta was expected to recover within three hours.
"We apologize for the inconvenience today, and currently all efforts have been made to recover the Java-Bali power system, especially in the area of West Java, Banten, and Jakarta," Cahyani said.
The company has focused on power supply to PLTGU Muara Karang and PLTGU Priok to recover the system in the capital city.
Previously, PLN has recovered the operation of hydro-generated power plant (PLTA) Saguling and PLTA Cirata which are functioned as power stabilizer, and, at the same time, supply the electricity to PLTU Suralaya through Cibinong, Depok, Gandul, Lengkok, Balaraja and Suralaya extra high voltage substations.
PLTU Suralaya is expected to return to its normal operation within six hours to normalize power system in West Java and Banten.
Blackout that affected thousands of homes and public facilities in West Java, Jakarta, and Banten was caused by several troubles in the extra high voltage 500 kV transmission of Ungaran - Pemalang.
"PLN has taken its best efforts and will have evaluation to prevent recurrence of today's incident," Cahyani said.

Appreciation for the Indonesian Presidency at the UN Security Council

Indonesia Chairs International Meetings related to Protection of Genetic Resources and Expressions of Traditional Culture

"Congratulations to Indonesia, which has successfully held activities that are very beneficial for all stakeholders related to negotiating the protection of SDGPTEBT in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The holding of this conference further strengthened Indonesia's leadership in relation to the issue of SDGPTEBT protection which has been proven since 2008 when Indonesia took the role of coordinator of the 58-member Like Minded Group of Countries (LMCs) from Asia, Africa and Latin America ", as stated by the Nigerian delegation representing all Conference participants.

The value of the global trade in SDGPTEBT annually reaches more than 800 billion US dollars and has the potential to contribute to national economic income. Without the recognition of international intellectual property protection for SDGPTEBT, genetic resource assets and Indonesian culture have the potential to continue to be abused and utilized by foreigners.
The international conference on intellectual property protection for the SDGPTEBT was held in Montreux, Switzerland. Minister of Industry: Republic of Indonesia's Politics and Economy Stable

The long-awaited direct flight between Indonesia and Cambodia will finally be realized this year. The Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the launch of the new Panchagarh Express train to serve Bangladesh's longest railway line that connects the Dhaka Capital with the city of Panchagarh on the northwestern tip last weekend. Ministry of Industry Encourages Industrial Cooperation 4.0 with Taiwan

Airlangga said that the construction of DCC would also collaborate with a technology research and development institution in Taiwan called the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). "Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0) is a benchmark index for industry and government in measuring the level of industry readiness to transform towards industry 4.0 in Indonesia," explained the Minister of Industry.
The Ministry of Industry believes, the application of the digital economy will be able to create new opportunities. Based on the results of research by McKinsey and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), digital economics was able to increase the added value of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by USD150 billion in 2025.
In fact, in 2025, Indonesia will also need as many as 17 million new technology-literate workers. So, they need new skills, including talents that are different from what they have now. In the manufacturing sector, it is estimated that there will be an increase of 4.5 million workers, while another 12.5 million are for the industry support services sector.
