Kazakhstan eager to learn Indonesia's soft approaches on counterterrorism

The Kazakh government is interested to learn the Indonesian National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT)'s soft approaches to deal with terrorism.  BNPT Chief Commissioner General  Police Suhardi Alius said in a press statement released on Sunday, January 28th that Kazakhstan expressed the interest when chairman of the Kazakh National Security Committee (NSC) Dauletbekovich Billsbekov had a working dinner with the BNPT chief in Astana on Wednesday, January 24th.
 
 
Alius said his visit to the capital of Kazakhstan was aimed at following up on a cooperation agreement between Indonesia and Kazakhstan on combating terrorism. During a meeting with Kazakh officials, he specifically explained what Indonesia has carried out to address terrorism, including making soft approaches by involving repented-former terrorist leaders to speak for the deradicalization program. Alius noted  this approach is quite effective because these former terrorists can share their experience and show their path of going back to the right direction.
 
The soft approaches, he added, also involve religious organizations such as the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah. From his explanations, the Kazakh official learned that soft approaches are another big point to handle the common issue of terrorism, in addition to hard approaches that are more widely implemented in different countries. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting presents the first title for Indonesia in the event of Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2018. Anthony won the title by beat Kazumasa Sakai (Japan), with a score of 21-12, 21-13. This is Anthony's first title in 2018, and his second title in a super series tournament. Last year he won in the event the Korea Open Super Series 2017.

OJK: Indonesia bans Bitcoin and other virtual currencies

The Financial Services Authority -OJK confirmed that virtual currency, including Bitcoin, is not a valid payment instrument in Indonesia. The provision has been valid since the beginning of the year.  OJK Chairman of the Board of Commissioner, Wimboh Santoso said in Jakarta on Thursday, January 25th) that the legitimate means of payment in Indonesia is the currency -rupiah. He stated that crypto-currency is already banned. His statement responded to the launch of investment products in the form of crypto-currency by Aladin Capital. The currency is reported to have a guarantee in HSBC and has grown rapidly in several countries, especially in Vietnam. The prohibition of virtual currency, including Bitcoin by the authorities must be obeyed by the financial services sector. Wimboh asserted that OJK is the authority that supervises and gives permission for investment products, so that any financial services institution that launches investment products must report to the institution.
