International flyers will now need to submit PCR swab test results, showing they have tested negative for COVID-19, while domestic flyers will have to furnish the results of their rapid test, the task force stated. Head of the National Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling, Doni Monardo, told press after a limited meeting on Thursday at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. This refers to the regulation laid down in Circular Letter Number 4 of 2020, issued by the task force, regarding the criteria for public mobility restrictions to tackle COVID-19, which was later revised in Circular Letter Number 6 of 2020. Under the new guidelines, anyone who has recently returned from abroad, whether in an individual capacity or as a migrant worker, is required to carry a PCR test result”, Monardo noted as quoted by Antara//ANT

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the new normal presents an opportunity for halal businesses, as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for producing basic necessities, especially food and health products. In the enforcement of the new normal, health and hygiene aspects have to be rigorously monitored, said VP Ma'ruf Amin during a webinar conducted by State Islamic University Maulana Malik Ibrahim from Malang, East Java on Thursday. Sharia industry and businesses can begin producing goods and services related to health, including non-medical fabric masks, hand sanitizers, hand soaps, and face shields, he continued. The new normal, which has been prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, will change public behaviour in terms of maintaining health and hygiene, he said. In addition to the production of goods, the new normal can also serve as an opportunity for the Sharia services industry, especially in banking and finance. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) called on Indonesian ministries and the Task Force for Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling, to give specific attention to the spread of COVID-19 in East Java, South Sulawesi, and South Kalimantan. As quoted by Antara, the request was made on account of the high number of coronavirus cases registered in the three provinces. The president stated whilst opening the virtual limited cabinet meeting from the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Thursday. Until Wednesday, June 3, an additional 183 COVID-19 positive patients were recorded in East Java, thereby bringing the total to 5,318 COVID-19 cases. South Sulawesi recorded 38 new positive cases, with the total COVID-19 positive patients reaching 1,668. Meanwhile, 64 new infections were recorded in South Kalimantan, with the total number of COVID-19 positive patients reaching 1,033//ANT
