British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday (Apr 9) left intensive care after three days of treatment for COVID-19, his office said.

"The Prime Minister has been moved this evening from intensive care back to the ward, where he will receive close monitoring during the early phase of his recovery," a statement said.

"He is in extremely good spirits," it added.

The 55-year-old Conservative leader had received "standard oxygen treatment" after he was transferred to the intensive care unit at London's St Thomas's hospital on Monday, his spokesman said earlier.

While much of the focus in Britain has been on Johnson's health, there is also concern over the numbers of people infected with the virus, with the government set to extend a lockdown implemented on Mar 23.

The government announced another 881 deaths on Thursday, taking the UK total to 7,978.

National Police spokesman Sr Comr Asep Adi Saputra pointed to a substantial decline in crime rates, violations, and disruption of community order as well as the security situation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The community order and security situation are, in general, conducive," Saputra stated at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Thursday as quoted by Antara.

Saputra expounded that 4,197 crimes took place in the 13th week, dropping to 3,743 in the 14th week. This indicates a decrease of 11.03 percent in crimes.Meanwhile, 301 violations were committed in the 13th week, while 139 violations in the 14th week, thereby registering a 53.82-percent drop in the crime rate.Furthermore, 69 incidents of disturbance of community order and security situation were recorded in the 13th week, and 45 in the 14th week, thereby indicative of a 34.78-percent decrease.Furthermore, the Indonesian National Police conducted a special police operation codenamed "Operation Safe Nusa Dua" to contain the spread of COVID-19.

"The operation aims to detect, prevent, handle, rehabilitate, enforce the law, and carry out police operational assistance, specifically oriented towards thwarting the spread of COVID-19," Saputra emphasized.

State-run fertilizer holding company PT Pupuk Indonesia has made assurance that the imposition of large-scale social distancing (PSBB) by local regions would not impact the distribution of subsidized and non-subsidized fertilizers to farmers. Head of Corporate Communication Wijaya Laksana said the company will ensure the supply of fertilizers for the agriculture sector, more so with the harvesting period from April to September.

"The distribution of fertilizers to farmers would not be affected because they are categorized as essential goods, whose distribution is not restricted under the PSBB regulation. Fertilizer is a strategic commodity that plays an important role in ensuring smooth national development," Laksana affirmed here on Thursday as quoted by Antara.

The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has teamed up with the Indonesian National Army (TNI) to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus disease, or COVID-19, in the country. In a written statement, PMI chairperson M Jusuf Kalla said the involvement of the TNI was necessary in fighting the pandemic as it has special abilities, given the nation is fighting an invisible enemy.

"We need the involvement of the TNI because they have special abilities, and are very disciplined. Discipline is needed in this epidemic war because what we are facing is an invisible enemy," Jusuf Kalla said, while giving directions on the training of spray gun operators on Thursday at PMI headquarters in Jakarta as quoted by Antara.

At least 50 TNI personnel participated in the training of spray gun operators at the PMI central headquarters in Jakarta. The TNI will be in charge of operating the PMI’s spray gun car for three months.
