The Indonesian Government has received 10 thousand COVID-19 test kits and protective equipment from Singapore to aid efforts to contain the coronavirus outbreak in the country. Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia Anil Kumar Nayar handed over the assistance to Indonesian Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian at the Home Affairs Ministry on Friday. The assistance reflects the Singapore government's concrete support for Indonesia, Mr Karnavian said as quoted by Antara. Singapore had earlier extended similar assistance to the Batam municipal government in Riau Islands Province, which borders Singapore. The minister said he would hand over the COVID-19 test kits and protective equipment received from Singapore to the COVID-19 Response Task Force of the Health Ministry//Ant

The Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology in Jakarta, Friday, received donation worth Rp10 billion from pharmaceutical firm PT Tempo Scan Pacific, that will be channeled for intensifying COVID-19-related examination at its laboratory facilities. The donated funds were received through the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Task Force for Accelerating COVID-19 Handling, Head of the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology Amin Subandrio notified journalists here as quoted by Antara. The institute's laboratory is one of those selected by the Indonesian government to assist the Health Ministry to detect harmful microbes and the novel coronavirus, he revealed, adding that the Eijkman Institute has, until now, examined nearly three thousand test samples. Some 10 percent of those samples revealed positive results. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Indonesian government has imposed the policy of working, studying and worshipping from home since last month. To support the government’s policy, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) has launched Belajar di RRI or Learning In RRI program since March 26, 2020. This program is designed for primary, secondary and high school students. This was stated by Director of Program and Production of Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), Soleman Yusuf, to Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta in a telephone interview, Friday (03/04). Director Soleman Yusuf said this Learning in Radio program is part of the COVID-19 emergency response special program to socialize and give clear information about COVID-19 to the public. This one hour program is starting from 10 to 11 AM from Monday to Friday and broadcast simultaneously by 67 RRI working units across Indonesia.

"There are many online learning program from the Ministry of Education and Culture, and also from schools.  As we know that not all areas are covered by Internet connection in Indonesia. This program Learning in RRI is one of the solutions. Listening to the radio does not cost at all. They can follow clearly through the radio about the lessons given by their teachers directly in the studio or by telephone then broadcast by RRI, " the Director said. 

Soleman Yusuf added the program receives positive response from teachers, students and parents in Indonesia because the sound is clearer than from the Internet.(VOI/ANI).
