Indonesia hoped that Indonesia-China's commitment will strengthen. China is expected to increase imports of Indonesian products. This was conveyed by President Joko Widodo to the media after receiving the visit of Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang at the Presidential Palace of Bogor on Monday (7/5). The imports are mainly palm oil and tropical fruits. President Joko Widodo said that Prime Minister Li Keqiang has undertaken the increasing form of Indonesian trade with an additional minimum of 500,000 tonnes of crude palm oil to China. President Joko Widodo appreciated the visit of Prime Minister Li to Indonesia. It was Prime Minister Li’s first visit after being officially inaugurated in May 2018. For Indonesia, China is a strategic partner especially in the field of economy, trade and investment. The arrival of Prime Minister Li to Indonesia is also an important step in strengthening the relations between the two countries that must be mutually beneficial. According to President Joko Widodo, China with 1.37 billion population, is a huge market for Indonesian products. During the meeting, President Joko Widodo and PM Li Keqiang also discussed the improvement of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. The President asserted that as two major countries, the partnership of Indonesia and PRC should be able to provide benefits for peace, stability, and for the welfare of the world based on international law and norms. Meanwhile, in the event of Indonesia-China Business Summit 2018 in Jakarta on Monday (7/5) Indonesian Vice President Jusuf kalla asked the government and Chinese buisinessmen prioritizing Indonesian domestic workers in every investment conducted in Indonesia. This will add value to the industry, maintain environmental stability, and improve the quality of industrial products. Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xiao Qian earlier saidthat the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang indicated how important Indonesia is in the eyes of China. Xiao also explained that the relationship between Chinese and Indonesian society was established since 2,000 years ago and Indonesia is one of China's main diplomatic partners.
