Kemkominfo supports Peruri's transformation in postage stamps

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo) supports product development through transformation and the utilization of digital technology by the state-owned banknote printing company Perum Peruri.

"I support the transformation of Peruri that has developed its products by utilizing digital technology, such as the augmented reality feature on postage stamps," Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate noted in a press statement on Friday.

Digital technology, which has become part of the people's daily lives, can be used for the development of the nation and state, including companies.

"Currently, we no longer see this as hope. Digital has become a reality that we must use for the benefit of our country, nation, and society first and foremost. I certainly hope that the digital technologies, which Peruri is involved in, will continue to grow," Plate stated.

The government signed the First Day Cover of the 50th Anniversary of Peruri's Stamps virtually, bearing the theme "Legacy and Infinity." The stamp, developed by Peruri, applies digital technology and provides detailed information with a code inside.

"We hope that in future, these stamps would continue to be developed and keep up with the times and technology," acting Director General of Post and Information Technology Ismail noted in the same statement.

Stamps are special collectible items that showcase social, cultural, and economic aspects of art, among others.

Hence, the ministry has called for breakthroughs and innovations for evolution in the development of stamps in the near future.

"We cannot deny the fact that the era of globalization is developing rapidly and technology is also advancing. Hence, everything is developed using digital technology, including stamps," Ismail stated.
