The Indonesian Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai event has attracted 750 thousand visitors as of January 31, 2022, an official has informed.
"We are proud that the Indonesian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai managed to attract 750 thousand visitors for four months. This is the result of good collaboration between ministries and institutions that always present interesting activities every week," director general of national export development at the Ministry of Trade and commissioner general of the Indonesian Pavilion, Didi Sumedi, said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Wednesday.
This success cannot be separated from Indonesia's efforts to continue to show the nation's potential to the world and to make the Indonesian Pavilion a miniature country that maps Indonesia's progress in the trade, investment, and tourism sectors, he remarked.
Sumedi said that the Indonesian Pavilion saw participation from 21 ministries and institutions, which presented investment opportunities in Indonesia through 193 activities in the form of business forums, one-on-one meetings, and seminars for business players in the Middle East and global markets.
In addition, the Indonesian Pavilion exhibited more than 595 export-ready products made by small and medium enterprises (SMEs), he said. Various cultural performances were also held every day on the stage of the Indonesian Pavilion, he added.
"The holding of various business forums and seminars every week is a form of Indonesia's consistency to continue to introduce the extraordinary potential of the nation on the world stage. The Indonesian Pavilion is also one of the recommended pavilions for visiting in the Opportunity District Expo 2020 Dubai area," he remarked.
According to Sumedi, one of the areas drawing visitors to the Pavilion is the Yesterday zone, which features 23 types of Indonesian spices. The spices have been displayed using thousands of resins on The Great Wall of Spice, he said.
Visitors can dive deeper into Indonesian spices through the Indonesia Spice Up the World area, he added.
Sumedi said he is optimistic that the testimonies of visitors to the Indonesian Pavilion who are interested in Indonesia's natural beauty, culture, trade potential will continue to encourage officials to consistently display the extraordinary potential of the nation to the world.
"We are very amazed by the beauty and culture of Indonesia. We see the enormous potential of spices in Indonesia. India is also synonymous with spices and spicy foods. We are interested in introducing quality Indonesian spices to our country one day," said visitors from India, Sharad and Sonel. (Antaranews)
