Indonesian men's tennis is believed to be able to survive in Group II of the Davis Cup overcoming host Vietnam in the playoff match. The playoffs will be held in early February 2023.

"We have carried out an evaluation. Evaluation after losing to host Poland in the first round of Group II last week," said General Chairperson of the Central Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Tennis Association (PP Pelti) Rildo Ananda Anwar in a written statement, Friday (23/9/2022) .

According to Rildo, the Red and White team did lose to an opponent who had better players. However, Christopher Rungkat and his friends did not perform badly, including the debutants.

Debutant players consisted of Nathan Anthony Barki, Tegar Abdi Satria Wibowo, and Lucky Candra Kurniawan. "In fact, it's good that they lost now, so they know what they lack, and have the motivation to train harder," said Rildo.

From the fight at Inowroclaw, Christopher Rungkat immediately joined the ATP Challenger tournament in Braga, Portugal. For Nathan Barki physical forge in the United States.

Meanwhile, M. Rifqi Fitriadi this week left for Vietnam. He competed in the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour M25 in Tay Ninh.

Indonesia became the last seed or 12th in the playoff match. While the host Vietnam is a promotion team from Group III Asia Zone.

The winners of the playoffs will be in World Group II. While the losers were thrown into Group III Asia Zone.

In the history of the contest for the supremacy symbol of the men's team tennis, the two countries have met twice. Vietnam swept two wins including the meeting at the Solo Manahan Tennis Stadium, 2016, where Vietnam led 3-2.
