Manpower Minister Appreciates Role of Labour20 in Employment Priorities

The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah appreciates the role of Labor 20 (L20) which has resulted in a shared commitment to achieving the priority agenda for employment. According to him, this is an important capital for business continuity in the future.

The Minister of Manpower revealed that various efforts have been made to maintain business continuity as well as various employment challenges faced. The collaboration of all parties is crucial to optimize the implementation of the commitments agreed in the G20 Working Group on Manpower Sector.

"I strongly believe in the importance of solidarity, and cooperation. And the spirit of humanity to respond to global challenges, especially in the field of employment," said Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah.

She explained, to increase the role and contribution of L20 to adaptive and inclusive recovery. L20 can play an active role in supporting the five pillars of Active Labor Market Policies (ALMP).

First, on education reform and vocational training. Where L20 is expected to be able to work together to improve the competence of workers/laborers in the face of digitalization and the green economy transition.

"Tripartite collaboration between the government and L20 in vocational training is an effort to encourage worker productivity in a sustainable manner. One tangible form of collaboration is through the Community BLK program," said the Minister of Manpower.

The second role, said the Minister of Manpower, is in the context of the labor market. L20 is able to play a role as a labor market information partner in the company as well as an important actor in efforts to link and match the supply and demand of labor.

Third, L20 can be a partner for increasing entrepreneurship and business networks for working families. This includes women workers, persons with disabilities and youth groups.

Fourth, in the context of labor social security and adaptive work protection, L20 ensures protection that covers workers/labor, including informal workers. And also expand the partnership to become a participant in the social security of workers.

Fifth, the role of L20 is very crucial to create harmonious industrial relations to build work conduciveness and work productivity of workers. "Let's join hands and collaborate to realize social justice for all, without any group being left behind," she said. (RRI)
