The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno is ready to help promote Jember Regency as the center for eco print batik in Indonesia.

"The batik shirt worn by Regent Hendy is an eco print batik which is currently being popularized in Jember, I am ready to help promote it," said Sandiaga at Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha Jember, Sunday afternoon.

According to him, the intellectual property exhibited by the Regent of Jember must become the spirit of the people's economic fighting spirit, especially for the current developments.

"The government has also issued Government Regulation Number 24 of 2022 concerning the Creative Economy, so that intellectual property such as the Jember eco print batik can be registered and the government is ready to facilitate it," said Sandiaga Uno.

He appreciated the performance achievements of Jember Regency which he considered to be advanced in the creative economy and MSMEs, apart from the excellence of the tourism sector, both natural, cultural, and religious.

"I am proud to see the results that Jember has achieved so far, Jember is getting cooler. Especially now that there have been two interconnection flights to Juanda Surabaya," said Sandiaga Uno.

He said his party targeted the absorption of new workers in the tourism sector to reach 4.4 million people by 2024.

"Welcoming the new economy, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages the creation of young entrepreneurs as the backbone of the economy, so they are able to overcome unemployment," said Sandiaga Uno.

Meanwhile, Jember Regent Hendy Siswanto said the Jember Regency Government really supports the program carried out by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

"We have 248 villages/kelurahan and Jember has a one village one product program, so that one village has one superior product.

It also really supports the policies at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy," he said.

Not only that, he continued, Jember Regency has as many as 612 thousand Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) spread across 31 sub-districts, so this has tremendous potential to boost.

"We hope that there will be synergy between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Jember Regency Government to support the tourism sector and the creative economy which will have an impact on people's welfare," he said. (Antaranews)
