President Joko Widodo visited Airmadidi Market in North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, on Thursday, January 19, 2023. President Joko Widodo's arrival was greeted enthusiastically by the people who had been waiting for him since morning.

The President immediately went around greeting traders to distribute social assistance (bansos) basic food and cash assistance. Apart from that, the President also used the moment of visiting the market to check the prices of basic foodstuffs.

"Usually, checking prices, especially the prices of basic necessities, rice, oil. I think in North Sulawesi conditions are stable, inflation is also very well maintained at 4 percent in Manado City and its surroundings, I think it is very good," the President said in his statement to the media crew at the Kuwil Kawangkoan Dam.

When they were about to enter the car to continue their journey, it seemed that thousands of people filled the road. Seeing that the roads were narrow because they were filled with people which would cause vehicles to move slowly, the President chose to walk while distributing T-shirts.

After walking for 30 minutes, the President entered the vehicle to continue his journey to the Kuwil Kawangkoan Dam.

Accompanying the President when visiting Airmadidi Market were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey, and North Minahasa Regent Joune J. E. Ganda. (VOI)
