VOINews, Jakarta: The spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lalu M. Iqbal said that humanitarian aid sent by Indonesia to the people of Gaza, Palestine had arrived at El Arish Airport, Egypt.

"Humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza has arrived at El Arish Airport, Egypt on November 6 2023," said Iqbal in an official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as received in Jakarta on Monday (6/11/2023).

The plane carrying aid to Gaza arrived at 08.00 local time, Iqbal said. The aid delivery, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pahala Mansury, was immediately handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent.

"Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pahala led the delivery of humanitarian aid. The assistance was handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Representative," he explained.

He also explained that the Hercules plane carrying humanitarian aid took a 'fairly long' route before landing in Egypt. After unloading the relief materials, the plane immediately prepared to return to Indonesia.

"Hercules took the route Jakarta - Banda Aceh - Yangon - New Delhi - Abu Dhabi - Jeddah - El-Arish," he said.

Previously, the Indonesian government on Saturday (4/11/2023) sent 51.5 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Palestine. The aid was officially released directly by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo at Halim Perdanakusuma Airfield, Jakarta. (Deassy Anugranov)
