In his speech, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Indonesia, Jalal Mirzayev, briefly explained the history of Heydar Aliyev and his role in the progress of Azerbaijan. Jalal expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian government and people for the support provided. He also hopes that the guests will enjoy the dinner.
"Once again, I would like to thank the people and the Indonesian government for the given support," said Jalal.
During the event, Azerbaijani pianist and singer Tunar Manafzade performed various songs in front of the guests. The songs she performed on the piano included Azerbaijani local songs and the Indonesian song Bengawan Solo. Several guests were seen giving flowers to Tunar after his performance, and many guests took photos with Tunar and Ambassador Jalal.
Heydar Aliyev was born on May 10, 1923 in Nakhchivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan. Haydar held high positions in Soviet Azerbaijan and the Soviet Union since 1969. In 1993, Heydar became president of Azerbaijan until 2003 and made Azerbaijan known as a major world energy producer.
