Deputy for Maritime Sovereignty and Energy Coordination at the coordinating ministry, Jodi Mahardi, said that the airshow was the first to support social welfare. Besides, Jodi said that the event also aims to protect the environment.
"The collaboration between these two institutions to welcome the implementation of the Bali International Airshow, next September, must be continued until after the event. The national aviation industry also contributes to supporting the sustainable development promoted by the government," said Jodi in his statement on Sunday (3/3/2023).
Jodi said BIAS 2024 will not only affect sustainable development and the welfare of the people. He explained that the potential for the aviation industry in Indonesia is projected to experience annual growth of 5 percent over the next 5 years.
"With the many opportunities for civil aviation, positive trends in the aviation industry are supported by Indonesia's commitment to the environment. One of them is through the development of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel)," he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the CARE Peduli Foundation (YCP), Wahid Situmorang said that the support received from BIAS 2024 will be directed to help reduce stunting by 14% in 2024. The target is especially for provinces with high stunting rates such as East Nusa Tenggara and other regions.
He said that by providing adequate nutrition for children and pregnant women, labor productivity could be boosted. According to him, this can increase economic growth, and contribute to an increase in gross domestic product (GDP) by 11%.
Wahid said that the support would also contribute to the protection of marine ecosystems such as corals, mangroves, and tropical land forests. "The collaboration initiated today is a form of joint work to protect future generations and Indonesia's nature," he said. (RRI/Ryan Suryadi/Bara)
