President of Indonesia says Indonesia has great potential to become the World’s Halal Industry hub

VOInews, Jakarta : Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Indonesia Islamic Financial Center (IIFC) in Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/9). In his remarks, President Joko Widodo asserted that Indonesia has great potential to become the center of the world's halal industry because of its Muslim population reaching 236 million people.
 
“This is a big market and a big potential that we must think about so that Indonesia can get the opportunity and it is not taken by other countries. Indonesia has the opportunity and potential to become the center of the world’s halal industry and  the center of the world’s halal ecosystem. With a note, we must strengthen the sharia economic ecosystem.” President said. 
 
Moreover, President Joko Widodo has further said that the presence of the Indonesia Islamic Center area is a positive step to support the development of the sharia economy, including the Muslim fashion sector, halal tourism, as well as halal food and beverages. With the existence of halal center, President Joko Widodo hopes that this will have a major impact on the development of Indonesia's sharia economy//VOI
