VOINews, Jambi: The Provincial Government of Jambi has confirmed that the investment in developing the Danau Sipin tourist destination, in collaboration with investors from South Korea, will proceed in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations. Acting Governor of Jambi, Sudirman, stated that the government is committed to ensuring that the partnership adheres to all legal frameworks.

In an official statement in Jambi on Saturday, Sudirman emphasized that the Jambi Provincial Government will thoroughly study the cooperation with Hanha Industry to ensure it complies with existing regulations. He pointed out that this partnership requires detailed discussions and careful examination to ensure all legal aspects are properly addressed.

The Jambi government fully supports maintaining the cleanliness of Danau Sipin while developing it into a prominent water tourism destination. As part of this commitment, the provincial government is reviewing the legal frameworks surrounding the collaboration for the sustainable development of the area.

Sudirman also noted that the cooperation will involve multiple stakeholders. Since Danau Sipin falls under the jurisdiction of three governing bodies—central, provincial, and municipal governments—coordination between these authorities is essential. Additionally, local community involvement will play a key role in ensuring the project’s success.

"There are regulations, technical aspects, and the involvement of the central government, provincial government, city government, and the community that all need to be carefully considered. We need to determine whether this is an investment or a direct partnership," Sudirman explained, emphasizing the need for in-depth understanding before moving forward.

He stressed the importance of caution in implementing the development project to ensure compliance with the regulations governing such investments. "We must adhere to the applicable laws, because no matter how good the intentions are, if legal processes are not followed, it could pose significant risks," he warned.

In addition to supporting tourism, the collaboration also focuses on environmental preservation. Representatives from Hanha Industry have outlined their goals for the project, which include efforts to clean and restore Danau Sipin while supporting Jambi’s economic development.

Johannes, a representative from Hanha Industry, elaborated on the company’s vision for the project. “The scope of this partnership involves pollution prevention, flood mitigation, and cleaning of Danau Sipin, along with installing lighting around the lake to attract public interest and prepare the area as a tourist destination,” he explained.

By addressing environmental and infrastructural issues, the project aims to transform Danau Sipin into a sustainable and appealing tourist site, while also promoting climate resilience and economic growth for the region./ANTARA/VOI
