The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon/ Myanmar/ has handed over aid of 15 million Myanmar kyats or around 7 thousand US dollars/ and 23,040 NEO MIXAGRIP tablets to the Myanmar Red Cross//
As quoted from the press statement of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/ Thursday (3/10/2024)/ Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim of the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon/ M. Arif Hidayatullah/ said/ the aid was a form of Indonesian solidarity with the people of Myanmar// He hopes/ the aid can help alleviate the suffering of those affected by the cyclone that hit the country recently//
Arif Hidayatullah handed over the aid to the President of the Myanmar Red Cross/ Myo Nyunt/ at the Myanmar Red Cross headquarters/ Wednesday (2/10/2024)//
The assistance came not only from the staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Myanmar/ but also from students and parents of the Indonesian International School Yangon and two Indonesian companies/ Japfa Comfeed Myanmar and Kalbe Myanmar//
Typhoon Yagi/ which hit Myanmar on September 12, 2024/ caused widespread damage and displacement/ so that thousands of people needed humanitarian assistance//
The donated funds will be used to provide essential supplies/ such as food/ clean water/ and shelter// While the NEO MIXAGRIP tablets will help meet the medical needs of the people affected by the typhoon//
Arif Hidayatullah expressed his deep sympathy for the victims of Typhoon Yagi/ and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in times of crisis//
Meanwhile/ Myo Nyunt expressed his gratitude for the donation// According to him/ the donation will help the Myanmar Red Cross to provide much-needed assistance and recovery for the people affected by the typhoon//
He said/ Myanmar and Indonesia are very close and mutually supportive since the struggle for independence of both countries//
