VOINews, Jakarta: Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a vital tool for addressing challenges in Indonesia’s creative industry, particularly in time management and data-driven decision-making, according to Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar. Speaking at the launch of the AI Merdeka initiative in Jakarta on Saturday, Irene highlighted AI's transformative potential in key creative sub-sectors such as culinary arts, fashion, and handicrafts.

"AI adoption can accelerate the growth of Indonesia's creative industry. By leveraging technology, existing challenges can be resolved more effectively," Irene stated. She emphasized that AI is not limited to tech giants or large-scale businesses but is also accessible to creative entrepreneurs who may not have been exposed to advanced technologies.

One example Irene shared is the use of AI in e-commerce platforms. AI can generate virtual personas capable of serving as 24-hour sales agents, reducing the time and effort required for online business operations. This application is particularly relevant for creative entrepreneurs looking to enhance the efficiency of their digital marketing and operations.

Irene also underscored the role of AI in enabling data-driven decision-making, a crucial skill for creative industry players who may lack experience in data analysis. “AI and data scientists can help process information, enabling smarter business decisions,” she explained. This capability is essential for businesses in the creative sector, where data insights can drive innovation and growth.

The application of AI offers creative entrepreneurs the opportunity to optimize their potential, especially in rapidly growing industries like culinary arts, fashion, and handicrafts. By integrating AI into their workflows, these sectors can enhance productivity and global competitiveness.

"There are still countless opportunities to be harnessed from AI in Indonesia's creative economy," Irene remarked, expressing optimism about the sector’s future.

The deputy minister also noted that the advancement of AI technology could open up wider opportunities for not just entrepreneurs but also individuals pursuing careers in technology and data fields. This growing demand for tech-savvy professionals underscores the importance of integrating AI education and training into the nation’s development agenda.

"With government policies encouraging AI adoption, Indonesia has the potential to become a major player in the global digital economy," Irene concluded. As AI technology continues to evolve, its role in shaping Indonesia's creative economy will be pivotal in achieving sustainable growth and global recognition./ANTARA/VOI
